On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Cuomo Primetime,” Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) said he believes that 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden “would be subject to subpoena power and could be compelled” to testify at the Senate’s impeachment trial.

Doggett stated, “I think that Joe Biden or anyone else would be subject to subpoena power and could be compelled to come to this proceeding. But there’s nothing that Joe Biden or any of the other witnesses Republicans have talked about have to say about what the president is being impeached for. The only purpose of bringing them is for distraction urged by the master of distraction, Donald Trump.”

Trump is investigating the DEM looting of the Ukraine.

They had to impeach him over it.

The only purpose of bringing them is for distraction urged by the master of distraction, Donald Trump.

Not to mention that he bragged about actually doing the very quid pro quo the Democrats pretend Trump did.

Projection works well if your Republican opponent rolls over and apologizes for what you did.

But once the Republicans start fighting back, Projection just helps identify the true culprits.

If Biden is subpoenaed for anything it will be to appear and answer questions before Mr Durham’s Grand Jury.

I think they ought to subpoena Dr. Jill too. She can give tips on raising children.

:: would be subject to subpoena power ::

Congress has no mandate of oversight over ordinary citizens. Biden should tell Congress to piss up a rope.

Lure him to the Senate by the suggestion of some defenseless young girls with long hair in the vicinity.

I want Quid Pro Joe compelled to testify in front of a judge and jury, not a do-nothing Senate.

Biden will go to jail if he ignores a subpoena.

But there’s nothing that Joe Biden or any of the other witnesses Republicans have talked about have to say about what the president is being impeached for

This is also what Biden is trying to push saying that there is no basis for having him testify. This is ridiculous. The firing of the prosecutor was discussed on the call with Zelensky. The first article is for abuse of power charges that Trump used his office for personal political gain by having the Ukrainians investigate Biden. If it can be shown that there was a legitimate law enforcement reason for asking the Ukrainians to cooperate with our investigating this apparent bribe then the premise of the charge is proven false. Biden's testimony and the transcripts of his calls to Poroshenko are central to the President's defense.

Biden might be subject to a congressional subpoena if it involved possible criminal acts he committed during his political career/office-holding. This would include any “quid pro-quo” for his son re Burisma/Ukraine when he was VP.

The same might apply to Nancy Pelosi and her possibly crooked son in similar quid pro quo “jobs”.

Biden is also susceptible to an ordinary or federal criminal grand jury investigation where a refusal to appear land you in jail for the life of that jury (unless the person changes their mind. But there is NO 5th Amendment before a grand jury and Biden/Obama know this).
