Special Operator 1st Class Corey Scott, a medic in the platoon, told the investigators: You could tell he was perfectly OK with killing anybody that was moving. Such dire descriptions of Gallagher, who had eight combat deployments and sometimes went by the nickname Blade, are in marked contrast to Trumps portrayal of him at a recent political rally in Florida as one of our great fighters.

was Scott the medic who copped to the killing on the stand after he got his immunity deal?
I believe the case included a situation where the captured and seriously wounded bad guy was about to give away the SEALs position due to his semi-conscious state and the choice was silence the dying dude or give away the position to a much larger force. I understand the choice. War is hell. Yeah, those of us who know, know.
That said, CPO Gallagher had a lot of static from his peers and subordinates, so, there is concern for his fitness.
My bona fides? Probably more credibility than most, not as much as some.
Gallagher is probably best in retired status, for his sake and the sake of the fight. BZ, Chief, now come home, like the rest of us war horses.
The rest of you serving warriors, keep up the fire!
I dont recall that part of the story mentioned in your first paragraph but I am not prepared to say it aint so.
The subject is Gallagher.
Trump already is well known for making horrible personnel choices. One cant defend his bad judgment when it comes to people. Look at his horrible staff and cabinet choices that he finally down the line ends up forcing out. He never required the Obama holdovers to leave so they are still resisting him to this day. Gallagher pardon is just one more bad personnel Action. Despite the great things he has done few of us with a brain think he makes good personnel decisions. Gallagher and his Felons out of prison bill are just one more evidence of that belief.
Warriors are taught that there are Laws of War. War is not a free for all with anybody doing whatever they want, however they do it.
Civilians often think of war as Anything Goes. That is not the case. There are specific rules on what type of weapons and ammo can be used, how civilians are to be treated, rights of captured soldiers, etc.
Soldiers are retrained every year on these rules of war.
The object behind these rules is to assure that our forces are properly treated if they are captured. Violations of the rules carry strict penalties.
but our people are not properly treated.
In ww2 our people at times took no prisoners.
War is War.
People were hung for war crimes in killing prisoners of war. The victor tends to get better treatment after the war than the defeated but nevertheless American forces re held to the same standard. We prosecute those that violate the Geneva convention. Gallagher being one example.
II wonder what SEALs think of medics.
Im not a SEAL but Im pretty sure they think the medics are the guys who could very well save their lives. I doubt seriously that they are looked down on if thats what youre getting at.
I ain’t even mad.
Not murdering a prisoner doesnt require much judgment. Its drilled into every American service members head repeatedly. Those that do it think it will never be discovered, but there is always someone with integrity who steps forward and reports the crime.
These criminals like Gallagher are always turned in by their shipmates or fellow soldiers.
I never suggested otherwise. Wars are fought to be won. They are fought against enemy combatants. It can be hard at times to distinguish whether someone is an innocent civilian or an enemy combatant. When that distinction must be made in seconds I understand a soldier erring on the side of preserving his life and that of others.
Maximum Soy!
Of course, the Doosh SoyBoy is total Resistance on his Twitter feed...
Your statement is correct. Soldiers in those situations are not the ones charged with crimes. They are not the situations where fellow combatants turn in fellow soldiers for murdering prisoners or civilians, both of which are crimes.
We asked you to secure the area,
Thank you.

With all due respect, scumbag terrorists have no protection under the Geneva Convention as POW’s. The are not professional soldiers in uniform. They should all be lined up against a wall and shot IMHO.
> Didnt another soldier confess at the trial to the murder in question? Yes.
Corey Scott was the one who testified that HE did it himself..
Otherwise, it's just a bunch of lies like the lies of some of the propagandists on this very thread.
However, the helmet camera footage directly contradicts the witnesses testimony on which prosecutors have built their case by showing Gallagher protected the wounded ISIS fighter from vengeful Iraqi forces and went to great effort to tend to the man's wounds.
"In this video, you see the Iraqi partner forces dragging this half-dead terrorist off the hood of the Humvee Eddie coming over, taking charge, clearing everybody away; the ISIS guy is now down the ground; Eddie pulls out his medical kit and starts assessing his injuries to perform first aid," Parlatore said. "That's all that's in the video."
And this:
Navy spokesman Brian O'Rourke confirmed to Task & Purpose that Scott testified on Thursday that he had asphyxiated the wounded ISIS fighter and was responsible for the man's death.
Scott reportedly said that he knew the fighter "was going to be turned over to the Iraqi forces and that he had previously seen those forces torture, rape and murder prisoners," NBC News reports.
"I knew he was going to die anyway," Scott said. "I wanted to save him from waking up to what had happened next."
Duncan Hunter says in this video that the Iraqi forces had the teenage fighter for several hours, and that Hunter saw a helmet cam video where you can tell the kid is dying even before he was turned over to Gallagher and his men.
