New laws taking effect in 2020 will impact schools across California.

Starting next school year, it will be illegal for public schools in the state to suspend students in first through fifth grade for willfully defying teachers or administrators.

Then, from 2021 through 2025, it will be temporarily extended to kids in grades six through eight.

Supporters say suspensions for willful defiance are disproportionately used against students of color.

The law is designed to promote the Africanization of California. Compared to easrern cities and Chicago, LA and sanFrancisco are behind in Africanization

My elementary school teacher had a yardstick and she broke it on one kid. That was when yardsticks were much more durable than they are now.

"Supporters say suspensions for willful defiance are disproportionately used against students of color."

Let me guess, "students of color" is code for 'blacks and Hispanics,' and doesn't include Asians in this instance. Asians almost always seem so inconvenient to the "these laws target minorities and benefit whites" narrative.

Great ideas from the Left:

(1) Do not require students to obey teachers.

(2) Abolish the police.

(3) Legalize all drugs.

(4) Abolish math.

(5) Abolish drive-in windows.

(6) Abolish soda straws.

(7) Legalize defecation on sidewalks and in super markets.

(8) Free health care for illegal immigrants.

My experience is that kids of color disproportionally have the "attitude".

This is because certain specially-privileged minority group members cause the most trouble, and that’s embarrassing to the left. Rather than get at the root cause, they pretend no problem exists.

As long as the law doesn’t prohibit slapping and paddling the offenders...

Its no wonder Ca. is having so many problems. Their schools teach students to ignore authority.

I'm puzzled... does no one understand that in LAUSD, white teachers only comprise about 34% of the workforce (according to The Atlantic, January 14, 2019, Alia Wong)? So... are Latinos "of color" or not? Because if they ARE, there are more Latino teachers than white ones in LAUSD. Someone needs to look at this. Are they only talking about blacks? If so, does that means Asians and Latinos are white now? (It's coming, I tell you.)

Or is it that if you're a Latino student, you're "of color" but if you're a Latino teacher, you're "white?"

You are supposed to educate them, not kick them out. This provision will force teachers to be better. I am all for it.

Bingo!

Classrooms will quite obviously cease to exist when, "I ain't gonna' sit down and shut up!" constitutes "willful defiance".

Might as well allow folks to relieve themselves on public sidewalks; the crime rate in CA will spike by2025 and then accelerate.
