As part of Congress, I’m giving you fair warning that this is the equivalent of shouting ‘fire’ in a movie theater. If your reporting incites violence, or can even be tied to it, we will make sure to charge your editors with felonies,” wrote the person.

It’s worth pointing out the message came in anonymously – so we’re pretty confident it wasn’t exactly a sitting congressman.

There’s going to be a “lobby day” at the State Capitol on Jan 20. It’s going to be a HUGE crowd .... some out-of-state militias evidently are going to attend as well as people from around the state. I hope there’s not a square inch of ground at the Capitol not occupied by a concerned pro-gun/2A citizen ... being well-behaved, of course. I’m sure there will be anti-gun Leftists trying to stir up trouble as well.

I agree with you. I hate clickbait, too. That's why I never read anything on FR, except vanities.

When someone posts an article on FR from another site, I know that they had to click on that article which generated revenue for the other site. This means they are supporting ad generating clickbait sites which I vehemently oppose. Therefore I would be compromising my principles to read any articles posted on FR from other sites.

Besides if I did read the article on FR, how would I know the poster included all the information from the article accurately, including all words, sentences, paragraphs, pictures and links if I didn't go to the actual article.

The headline in question was written like an old-fashioned newspaper headline -- it told the reader what the article was about. The quintessential clickbait headline is tantalizing and doesn't give away any information.
