Born in 1823? You can still vote in Detroit, according to a lawsuit

One registered voter in the city of Detroit was born almost 200 years ago, according to a lawsuit. This still-active voter would have been born 14 years before Michigan became a state.

Sound fishy to you? That's not all. This ancient voter appears to be one of thousands falsely registered in Detroit, many of whom died a decade ago or more yet were still able to drag themselves from their graves to vote in the most important election of our lifetimes (though, I guess, not their lifetimes).

This week, the Public Interest Legal Foundation filed a lawsuit against Detroit election officials, claiming numerous such instances of demonstrable voter fraud. After combing through voter records for two years, the public-interest law firm released some pretty astonishing findings.

During the 2016 election, Detroit had 511,786 registered voters despite having only 479,267 voting-age residents, according to the lawsuit. That's more than 32,500 people who should have been booted off the list. Some of the names belonged to people who were 105 years old or older, and the foundation flagged 4,788 registration files as potential duplicates or triplicates.

wow, so how can this be a racist issue... I wonder if the black people are voting, or is it whites. Or as Stalin said it is the people that count the votes that choose the candidates.

It’s covered by the ADA. You can’t discriminate against the discarnate.

In lousy Russian (Boris and Natasha) accent: “It’s not he who votes that counts, but he who counts the votes!”

Cleverly worded, carefully written story that ultimately delivers nothing of substance.

Nully's modest proposal to end voter fraud:
• Paper ballots
• Purple fingers
• Mandatory free on demand BIOMETRIC (iris scan, nobody ever left their irises at a crime scene!) photo voter ID card, with a database that instantly flags for arrest anyone seeking multiple IDs. Change of name or address? Simply have your old card voided when you apply for the new one.
• No precinct reports their totals until ALL precincts report they have totals. This prevents the last to report precinct captains from knowing how much to fudge a report to give a win to their preferred candidate while maintaining some slight semblance of credibility.
• Repeal Motor Voter.
• End same-day registration where it exists, and allow ample time between registration and election for vetting of credentials of registrants.
• Instantly deport any non-citizen who registers to vote.
• Put a little ⩍ next to the names of those registered voters with death certificates, and detain and put a 72 hour psychiatric hold anyone claiming to be a dead person...
• End early voting. Every voter deserves and has a responsibility to know the latest information before they cast their ballots.
Mexico has voter ID cards required to vote, and when you vote, they punch a hole in your card to prevent multiple votes in the same election.

I don't know if you get a 10% discount after you've accumulated enough punched holes...

LISTER: Oh, come on, Rimmer, don't give me this.
RIMMER: Don't give you what? I'm dead, Lister, or hadn't you noticed?
LISTER: I know you're dead, Rimmer. Don't whinge on about it!
RIMMER: Sorry to be a bore.
LISTER: I mean, you're everything you were when you were alive. Same personality. Same everything.
RIMMER: Apart from the minuscule detail that I'm a stiffie.
LISTER: Look, Rimmer, death isn't the handicap it used to be in the olden days. It doesn't screw your career up like it used to.
RIMMER: That's what they say, Lister. But if you had two people coming for a job, and one of them was dead, which one would you pick?
LISTER: It depends which is better qualified.
RIMMER: Bull pats! When was the last time you saw a dead newsreader?
LISTER: Channel 27 have a hologram reading the news.
RIMMER: Oh, groovy, funky Channel 27. Big smegging deal. You livvies hate us deadies.

I'd add one more:

All voter rolls are automatically and completely purged ten days after the Presidential Inauguration.

Reregistering to vote every four years is not an imposition.

Hmmmmmmm, not a bad idea!

Several people have contributed to this list over the years, unless anyone has a good reason not to add this one, I will!

Comments anyone?

Thanks!

Great list nully. Of course democrats will fight ever attempt to eliminate fraud, because it is wrong to discriminate against the dead.

Its a lot easy to simply find a bunch of ballots, usually in the trunk of your car, that somehow didn’t get counted.
Pay no attention if your town’s election had a 120% turn out.

Dead people are one of the Democrats most reliable voting blocks. They vote early and often.
