Misleading title — agreed to change in the cost sharing formula by NATO member nations for headquarters operations (paying the thousands of pencil-pushing bureaucrats). No change in the total amount, just we taxpayers responsible for 16% of the costs, down from 22%, a savings of $150M. No effect on tip of the spear money.
WINNING!

NATO was founded to prevent the Soviet Union from invading Western Europe.
Mission accomplished. Disband it. Germany, France, and the UK are no longer broke and starving

A cut is a cut.
I hope Trump will just leave and bring our troops home and there is reason to believe he will but I’ll take what I can get until he does.

I remember last year when he first saw the new NATO headquarters in Brussels...another Crystal Cathedral IMO. He made a crack about the obvious extravagance. Maybe that’s when he started thinking about our “contributions” to NATO.

If true to aid trends, this spells a real wealth hit around the Washington Beltway.
Ukraine, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Estonia, Tehran, etc.... are merely state department led money laundering operations. I would not be stretching to include NATO.

Agree 100%. We should deal with such issues on a case by case, country by country basis. The “NATO Alliance” is completely one-sided and in, addition it is obsolete.
Problem is, it is a treaty and the vast majority of pubbies support it.
President Trump could void it based on the lack of compliance to the terms of the treaty by the other members but, if he did that he wouldn’t get anything else accomplished. The RINO’s would hold his agenda hostage to his stance on such a move.
Trump knows this so, he is forced to maintain it and pressure the freeloaders into contributing more money while threatening to and actually reduce our money to NATO.
