~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Naval Air Station Meridian, Mississippi Naval Air Station Meridian or NAS Meridian is a military airport located 11 miles northeast of Meridian, Mississippi in Lauderdale County and Kemper County, and is one of the Navy's two jet strike pilot training facilities. Naval Air Station Meridian trains Sailors and Marines in aviation and technical related fields. It is home to Training Air Wing One, Training Squadron 9, Training Squadron 7, Naval Technical Training Center, Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron One and the Regional Counterdrug Training Academy. The Air Operations Department employs 230 military and civilian personnel to operate NAS Meridian/McCain Field and Naval Outlying Landing Field (NOLF) Joe Williams. Their primary mission is to support Commander, Training Air Wing ONE, the wing's subordinate training squadrons and its associated T-45 Goshawk aircraft in the conduct of undergraduate strike pilot training. Additional services are furnished to support operations for NAS and transient military aircrews. Air Traffic Control Division operates the control tower and radar final control systems. NAS Meridian maintains a separate runway, Joe Williams Outlying Landing Field (OLF), approximately 25 miles northwest of the main air station. Joe Williams OLF is an 8,000 foot long runway located in a rural area between the communities of Bogue Chitto and De Kalb. The field is used to reduced traffic congestion at the main air station, primarily when students are conducting Field Carrier Landing Practice in preparation for initial aircraft carrier qualification. November 26Hes Got This
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:18
Pastor Watson Jones remembers learning to ride a bike. His father was walking alongside when little Watson saw some girls sitting on a porch. Daddy, I got this! he said. He didnt. He realized too late he hadnt learned to balance without his fathers steadying grip. He wasnt as grown up as he thought.
Our heavenly Father longs for us to grow up and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13). But spiritual maturity is different from natural maturity. Parents raise their children to become independent, to no longer need them. Our divine Father raises us to daily depend on Him more.
Peter begins his letter by promising grace and peace . . . through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, and he ends by urging us to grow in that same grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:2; 3:18). Mature Christians never outgrow their need for Jesus.
Watson warns, Some of us are busy slapping Jesuss hands off the handlebars of our life. As if we didnt need His strong hands to hold us, to pick us up, and to hug us when we wobble and flop. We cant grow beyond our dependence on Christ. We only grow by sinking our roots deeper in the grace and knowledge of Him.
By: Mike Wittmer
Reflect & Pray
Where do you feel your dependence on Jesus? How is that a sign of maturity?
Jesus, thank You for walking alongside me as I grow in my relationship with You.

Howdy, radu! How is the weather there? We have high wind warnings for tomorrow and then rain and cold for Wednesday. Some fun!
Today was nice. Cloudy but not too chilly.

Howdy, LUV.
Your weather tomorrow doesn’t sound very pleasant. High winds means dust. GACK!
It was another beautiful day here though a little cool. No winds mentioned in the forecast for tomorrow but rain will move in tomorrow night and be out of here Wed. morning. Another round moves in Thursday.

Whatever is coming for each of us, it’s moving fast! Hope we both get some rain. That would help our lawn.
Well, I just heard the first gust blow in. I guess it’s here. I do hope the dust doesn’t blow, but it probably will. Ack!

Good evening, radu...are you getting some good rain? Maybe some sun?
We have dropped back into winter. Should be single digits within the hour. Much more slick than this morning. Several intersections were spinning before finally catching and moving forward.

It looks like your in between two systems and that would explain all the wind. The one south of you is what will be here tomorrow night and the one moving out of the Rockies will be here Thurs. I guess that’s going to be the one to give you rain Wed.
Yep, we can both use the rain and I hope we get a decent amount.
