Whistleblower attorney defends 'coup' tweet, as Trump calls for impeachment probe shutdown
Fox News ^

Mark Zaid, the attorney for the Ukraine call whistleblower, on Thursday defended a series of tweets from 2017 in which he predicted a "coup" against President Trump and promised to “get rid of him” -- saying in a statement the tweets referred to “a completely lawful process.”

Shortly after the publication of a Fox News article Wednesday highlighting the stream of anti-Trump tweets, Trump himself lambasted Zaid during a rally in Louisiana, calling the attorney “disgraceful.”

After tweeting lightheartedly about the controversy Wednesday night, Zaid sent Fox News a formal statement Thursday in which he said the social media posts were written with the belief that Trump would likely be “stepping over the line” at some point during his presidency.

“Those tweets were reflective and repeated the sentiments of millions of people,” Zaid said. “I was referring to a completely lawful process of what President Trump would likely face as a result of stepping over the line, and that particularly whatever would happen would come about as a result of lawyers. The coup comment referred to those working inside the Administration who were already, just a week into office, standing up to him to enforce recognized rules of law.“

Wrong on Melania. She should remain dignified and gracious. She appeals to the thinking woman voter, not the emotional cray-crays.

The Constitution gives the mechanisms to deal with this.
We only need to exercise our duty.

Right, that's why the first hashtags were so obviously inspired by the rule of law....#coup and #rebellion...lol.

I've been saying on FR for years that the military will have to step in at some point. These last 3 years have only reinforced that opinion. The Democrats/Derps are completely out of control, and the GOP are a bunch of nut-less losers (except for Trump, of course).

If the authorities haven’t already attempted to question him, it is already over! As usual the good guys don’t want to fight. Trump may eventually win the battle(s). He is going to let the DS impeach him so he can have the Senate trial. Meanwhile the DS continues to walk all over him and by extension us.

One should always believe someone — especially a lawyer — when he denies doing anything illegal.

Trump Jr went on The View and all hell broke loose. Near as I can tell...the blackface conversation didn’t bring up Goldberg’s boyfriend Danza incident. Too bad. Maybe Jr didn’t know about it

By taking out I mean taking out. Time for some hardball fellow patriots.

Relax, bro. This is the kind of post that will draw fbi eyeballs because you are conservative.

Don't be a good guy that gets into a pissing contest with the feds, you will lose.

If he’s using “coup” as short for “coups de’tat”, it means a change of government by illegal means, including use of force. Liberals always want to redefine words when caught making inappropriate or inflammatory statements.

The more he tries to explain this away the deeper he digs.

He’s caught.

Yes. There’s another photo on the webz of him at the Disney waterpark.

What grown man (with no kids — see the text he put in above the creepy solo pictures) goes to a children’s waterpark?

No wonder he was plotting the coup from day 1.

PIZZAGATE PING!

“a completely lawful process”

Sorry, Charlie. Neither a “coup” nor a “rebellion” is lawful.

In Newspeak, “coup” means “enforcing recognized rules of law.”

AG would be a start. They should have been on his doorstep at 6AM. Probably Secret Service as this is a threat to POTUS. Enough with nasty letters, endless panels, etc... Arrest this scumbag and let the Courts sort this out. ZAID has said enough to establish probable cause. Courts will tie him up for a few years regardless. Maybe Flynn’s lawyer could do all this work if the Judge would finally end the charade. A better example is Schiff. He committed Security leaks. Then framed Nunes when Nunes discovered same. Schiff wouldn’t be running anything if he had been arrested the day he leaked the info.

PING

I wish that our Founding Fathers had foreseen Soviet-style Star Chamber treachery a representative like Schiff would impose upon a duly-elected President—and provided some sort of check to balance the scales.

Pencil-neck is protected by immunity, while President Trump is denied all due process rights otherwise established in the Constitution. Schiff continues to run roughshod, trampling over President Trump, who cannot even have legal representation, right to discovery and ability to call witnesses until this coup attempt lands in the Senate.

I wish we deplorables could organize something along the lines of a class-action lawsuit by gathering signatures and taking whatever necessary steps required to present our grievances before the Supreme Court.

President Trump is an innocent victim and his legions of supporters are likewise collaterally damaged throughout this endless nightmare.

Pray!
