Some conservatives assume that they, having more arms and more training and practice in using them, would quickly prevail over the soy-boy Left.
Proficiency with firearms will be no match for nuclear bombs, which Democrat Eric Swalwell has already suggested deploying domestically.
The Democrats are busy even now destroying the institutions of government, the institutions for the peaceful adjustment of differing interests. They are doing this through the Mueller witch hunt, bureaucratic and judicial sedition, and the illegitimate impeachment inquiry, and they are fomenting violence through their Antifa organization and their rhetoric.

Here's the good news: Commie hellholes set themselves up so THEY shoot their own citizens who want to escape.
It's the old 'iron curtain' idea.
When people wanted to leave East Germany (a commie run hellhole - before 'unification') to escape to freedom - the East German guards would shoot them and leave the bodies to rot as a warning to others wanting to escape. Often it took hours and sometimes days for the person to die before the 'rotting' started... which is the way of totalitarians...
Thugs have the same mentality...
Even today if you try to escape a hellhole like North Korea they shoot you and often kill your family members. The only people who LOVE totalitarian hellholes are the 'elites' who run the places. Our 'elites' like the hellhole idea as long as they see themselves in charge... our 'elites' would never want to live in someone else's hellhole.
So we don't have to have guards on the wall Boomer... the "PUS" - Progressive United States goons will see to it that no one escapes...
Our side doesn't want progressive elites, or CIA thugs, or FBI egomaniacs running our country. We've seen the KGB in action - we don't need that crap in our country. If liberals want it, fine... but we need to split the country so it's NOT here with our people.

A very important warning. The days of isolated civil wars are over.
Morphine was abused. But it worked.
There isn’t going to be any type of mass mobilization or house to house combat. The country will simply decay into regional groups.
My reading revealed to me that infection was primary cause of post-operative death. . .that and blood loss/shock.
Imagine going into battle back then, with the type of “care” that was available, and infection and huge pain a given, big physical and mental hurdles to over-come.
The war began some time ago, has gotten “hot” on only one side, and now the left is pursuing terroristic approaches using both lawfare and open violence.
We cannot fail to fail if we don’t even engage.

I think I get that. We’re far better armed than they are and if they pull a gun, they die.

I’d be one of the 80% at first. My dad was a butcher. I’ve seen it all yet I *still* want to puke at the sight of a butchered animal.
However, put my family’s life on the line, and I’ll get over that problem real fast.
I think more people would be like myself once reality sets in.
I also think people hoping for a hot civil war haven’t seen live combat. I haven’t, but I’ve talked with enough vets. I never want to see it. Neither do most of the vets I’ve talked with. Still, if it comes down to that, I am confident a LOT of people will come to grips with reality.

Lincoln freed no one. The Emancipation Proclamation was just propaganda, smoke and mirrors, as it specifically did NOT apply to areas or states that were “not in rebellion” or were under federal control. Since the Confederacy (sans New Orleans and some nearby parishes) was not under federal control, and was, in fact, an independent nation, the EC had no “there” there and was meaningless.
The Thirteenth Amendment, enacted and ratified AFTER Lincoln’s death and AFTER the war, put an end to chattel slavery.
Make no mistake the left does not hate guns
