The press conference, live on television, from the Oval Office concluding this round of China trade negotiations was one of the more fascinating events of recent years. Spin, real, or a combination, the love-fest between President Trump and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, both characterizing this first phase of their deal as not just an economic agreement but an important step forward for world peace, was one of those rare inspirational moments. Could human life really be that way?
It's easy to be skeptical--and probably wise with Turkey running roughshod through Syria at this very moment--but we can all be grateful for the possibility that things could be different.
The Democrats, of course, were having none of it. Trump, the first president in decades to negotiate seriously with China, to confront them in any way, must be impeached! Chuck Schumer, obviously panicked the public might realize that something of importance was actually being done by a government official (rather than endlessly investigating their opponents for illusory crimes), immediately took to Twitter with a warning before any details were released.

Imagine how good the deal could be if Dems supported Trump’s efforts. Treason.
I don’t see how an honest person could believe a word the Democrat party says.. A stupid person maybe.. but not an honest person.

You know, if the rats get in power, they’ll sell the country to the Chinese again, while taking millions in back channel bribes.
I going to go out on limb and make a prediction that I actually hope is wrong.
Within days of Trump and Xi signing off on the phase one deal in Chile the Chinese military will begin a massive crackdown on the Hong Kong protesters. First one, then the other.
It’s interesting that the protests in Hong Kong seemed to have dissipated in the last few days. Maybe they can read the tea leaves as well as I can.
Dem voters are either ignorant (of how they are being manipulated) or they are lying.
Your prediction about the Chinese military moving on HK likely will not happen for two reasons:
1. A cursory reading of what’s in the deal shows China did not gain anything other than a reprieve of the 5% tariff increase scheduled to begin on Oct 15, though it is something they desperately wanted. So they still have much to fear and likely wouldn’t dare take any drastic action regarding HK.
(As an aside, other than a one-time agriculture purchase that the communists desperately need, I don’t see anything new for the US, either. There’s no formal document on the deal (when agreeing on the final language is no easy task as prior negotiations proved); nothing on enforcement mechanism against future IP theft; no detail at all about currency manipulation. Then there is opening up China’s financial sector, which is exactly where China needs an infusion of capital the most, well, it just contradicts the President’s previous call for American businesses to leave China. Maybe the President saw the need amid all the impeachment madness to change his strategies, at least in presentation if not in substance.)
2. The Chinese communist party has found a better way to deal with the HK protesters without risking any backlash from the West, and it can be summed up like this: Hundreds of suspicious suicides just in the last couple of months and accusations of rape by a university student previously detained by police. And the fact the public mass transit system has been regularly shut down is the reason we won’t see millions of people marching in one location anymore.

I really doubt the Chinese are going to do Trump any favors and give the U.S. a good deal in the long run. China knows that the Dems will do anything for them and sell out the country over and over; just look at the nba. China is biding their time.
So even if it looks rosy now, I don’t think it’s a stretch that Chicoms will pull the rug out under Trump just in time for the election ie a pump and dump. We all know the Chicoms are going to be engaged in election chicanery against Trump.
There is a big part of me that wants to see that happen.
I don’t think Trump has beat them up enough yet, and to see 50%, 75% or even 100% tariffs on some Chinese products before January 1 would do my heart good.

The voters will realize that their only hope of getting fair trade with China is with the Democrats in charge.
Of course Trump is better than the dims on getting a good China deal. I’m only making the point that the Chicoms are probably going to give Trump the appearance of a deal now so that when people are paying attention to the election, they can pull out of the deal and take a hostile stand against US in an effort to sink the markets.
I think you would have to agree that the Chicoms have a big rooting interest in weakening Trump and seeing the dims prevail. The Chicoms want to deal with people like Pelosi and Feinstein and helping Trump is not a part of their plan.
I don’t believe that the Chicoms believe in fair trade and they don’t like dealing with Trump. The Chicoms are going to do what they can to hurt Trump and the U.S.
