Donald Trump on Monday washed his hands of the Syrian military quagmire and defended his decision to pull U.S. troops 7,000 miles homeward, saying any resurgence of the ISIS terror army would no longer be America's immediate concern.
Countries in what he said is 'not a friendly neighborhood' wil have to make do without the United States, Trump said after signing a trade agreement at the White House.
'Iran is an example. Hates ISIS, and ISIS hates Iran. Iraq, you know all about that. Turkey. Syria,' he rattled off.
'Let them take care of it. Let them take care of it. We want to bring our troops back home.
Trump said the explosive disassembly of the ISIS caliphate had left tens of thousands of people in custod,y including both soldiers and civilians, 'and we can't release them.'
I told president Erdogan, 'It's going to be your responsibility,' he said of Turkey's leader.

25 too many. Why don’t the congress people send their own children over there if they think it is such a good idea.
Sure he will. On a list of least trustworthy world leaders Erdogan needs to be near the top.
We have to get out; and hopefully realize Islam is an ongoing threat to us, no matter how well disguised.
Otherwise our troops will be shot in the back by so-called Muslim allies.- Tom
The Democrats and their toady media allies go all warmonger if a Republican seeks to extricate U.S troops from quagmires. These freaks never cared about Tutsis being massacred during Clinton’s presidency.
Uh, why Japan? Japan is our ally now, they actually pay us to be there and the most hazardous thing for our troops there routinely encounter is voluntary alcohol poisoning or falling off their ship.
Our founding fathers warned against getting entangled in foreign wars.
So our supposed ally, Turkey, attacks another ally.
I can see why Trump would be frustrated.
Would’ve been more ballsy to shoot Turkish planes out of the sky.
Oh, I think we can ‘trust’ Erd to kill his enemies.
Manbij city will be the test of this. If there is slaughter there- Trump will be diminished.
If not, things might work out as best they can.
Anonymous sources report lindsy hitting the bottle in despair.
For a hundred years this country has paid a high price for the mistakes done at Versailles in 1919 and afterwards when the Europeans carved up the Middle East into their own spheres of influence. Now were the ones holding the bag for the mess over there.
Then as soon as WWII was over in Europe, the UK and its oil hungry allies carved up the middle east again and created the tribal countries causing the Middle East wars since then.
President Trump is saying as you noted, "Enough is Enough" you guys handle it and divide up the oil and natural gas.
We are out of it and don't need oil from the middle east.
America needs to stop trying to clean up the mess of the effects of the remapping of former colonies, people, religions, cultures, tribes and countries etc. This folly has led to countless graves filled with our soldiers.
Bring the Troops HOME!
Trump is doing the right thing.
GO TRUMP GO!
I suspect Trump’s got his ducks in a row...He knows he can’t tell anyone-—leakers...
Thanks for the kind word. I remember Rush saying on his show a few years back something to the effect that a State Department employee who specialized in Middle East affairs could be at their job for fifty years and retire without anything ever being resolved over there. The diplomacy done in that region of the world has been among the biggest blunders in the history of international affairs. We’re never going to solve the problems over there.
The Middle East has always been where big nations go to die.
ISIS is our enemy. Are they really Erdogans?
Manbij city will be the test of this. If there is slaughter there- Trump will be diminished. If not, things might work out as best they can.
Depends on who gets slaughtered.
Only about half of the imprisoned terrorists are Erd’s buddies... the others are his enemies’ buddies.
I see reports Syrian forces are headed to Manbij. If they ally with the Kurds against Turks that would be an encouraging sign.
This is the right decision, but terrible timing for the upcoming impeachment battle. There are many Republican Senators denouncing this decision, including Mitch McConnell. The uproar will lend cover for the weak kneed GOP to get even more passive or support a conviction vote in the Senate.
