House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) threatened to hold former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski in contempt of Congress because of his "refusal to answer questions" relating to the Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report.
"Mr. Lewandowski, your behavior in this hearing room has been completely unacceptable. It is part of a pattern of a White House desperate for the American people not to hear the truth," Nadler said. “I’ve been asked several times today whether the Committee will hold you in contempt. It is certainly under consideration."
"There is a far more troubling level of contempt on display here today and that is President Trump's role in your refusal to answer questions. The pattern of obstruction laid out in the Mueller report has not stopped," Nadler explained. "You showed the American people in real time that the Trump administration will do anything and everything in its power to obstruct the work of the Congress. The president's lawyers are sitting behind you right now to make sure that you do not answer us."
According to Nadler, Congress is focused on exposing "corruption, obstruction and abuse of power."
"Make no mistake, we will hold President Trump accountable," Nadler concluded.
Lewandowski refused to answer questions relating to previous conversations with President Trump. He cited executive privilege as his reason for not providing insight.

The remarks came after Democrats tussled for more than five hours with Lewandowski over his involvement in a possible obstruction episode as laid out in special counsel Robert Mueller 's report. In particular, they sought to have the longtime Trump ally answer questions about Trump asking Lewandowski to pass along a message to then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions in 2017 that urged him to reverse his recusal and set limits on the Russia probe.
Lewandowski ultimately turned to then-White House official Rick Dearborn to deliver the letter. Dearborn did not ultimately follow through, telling investigators that the request made him uncomfortable.

No doubt about it...Corey holds Nadless and the rest of the demo dwarfs in the highest contempt...and justly so.

The Republicans, on the committee, can't do anything more than what they are doing, which is calling out the Socialists, on the fact that they AREN'T doing the job they are supposed to be doing...........but are wasting time/money on conducting a personal political vendetta against a President and his Administration. They need to pound that fact DAILY by discussing the serious matters that Americans WANT them to work on.....that are being ignored.
The only thing we can hope for, is that there are still enough decent Democrats, like the blue dogs, of old, that are willing to make Nadler, and his fellow Socialists, PAY for destroying their party, by roundly defeating them at the polls.
Ididn’t actually hear very many questions. He had already told them up front the kinds of questions he would not or could not answer, but they tried to bait him. I heard them dump on him with faulty opinions and motivations while demanding he agree with them, and then try to insist their opinions were questions. I saw them act true to form in setting the rules, then refuse to abide by their own rules, and get pissy when called on it.
The repubs pointed out what a farce the whole thing is and reminded nadless that this wasn’t a committee. A few breaths later, nadless referred to the mess as a committee!
After a while the whole thing proved to be a disgusting waste of time and I shut it down. I listened for well over an hour.

David Schippers was asked by his friend, Congressman Henry Hyde, to be Chief Investigative Counsel for the US House Judiciary Committee. Schippers, a lifelong Democrat, accepted and took the job in April 1998. The Hyde Committee was holding an inquiry on whether Clinton had committed impeachable offences in his handling of the Paula Jones sexual harassment suit..... during which Clinton committed perjury regarding his affair with Monica Lewinsky. The committee in December 1998 voted to impeach Clinton........a decision supported by Schippers.
On December 10, 1998, Schippers said to the committee:
“The President, then,

<><> he lied to his Cabinet,

Upon the passage of H. Res. 611, Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998, by the House of Representatives on grounds of perjury to a grand jury (by a 228–206 vote) and obstruction of justice (by a 221–212 vote).The Senate voted not to remove the impeached president.
