Trump: US locked and loaded for response to attack on Saudis

A weekend drone attack on Saudi Arabia that cut into global energy supplies and halved the kingdom’s oil production threatened Sunday to fuel a regional crisis, as the U.S. released new evidence to back up its allegation that Iran was responsible for the assault amid heightened tensions over Tehran’s collapsing nuclear deal.

President Donald Trump said the U.S. had reason to believe it knew who was behind the attack — his secretary of state had blamed Iran the previous day — and assured his Twitter followers that “we are ... locked and loaded” depending on verification and were waiting to hear from the Saudis as to who they believe was behind the attack and “under what terms we would proceed!”

Lots of popular misconceptions about “the shores of Tripoli”.

There were only about 30 Marines, the rest were private military contractors, something that Eric Prince LOVES telling people (though I love that guy).

Also, upon landing, the total USMC/PMC op had major hookup$ with other local tribes who really had it in for the Tripoli bad dudes, though they had to pay those guys.

It was absolutely a US op but the notion that we send thousands or even hundreds of Marines?

Nah.

“WE SHOULD DESTROY THEIR NAVY”

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) is the real culprit.

They operate most of the sophisticated missiles, they control the Shi’ite surrogate militias outside of Iran, and they were the ones harassing tanker traffic.

The regular military, like the oil infrastructure on Kharg Island) will be needed by the next (pro-American) regime - if we blow it up, they will ask us to buy new ones for them.

No good follow-on regime will want the IRGC anything other than thoroughly blown up.

The regime needs the IRGC to maintain power. At some point the regular military will need to turn their guns on the regime. IRGC is the regime.

If we destroy anybody, it should be the IRGC - then let the population hang the mullahs.

The Iraq invasion wasn’t because they were attacking oil facilities. Oil had nothing to do with it. The psycho left were the ones who said it was about oil.

You might be right. But if Iran wants the U.S. to attack them, then why deny any involvement in this drone/missile/whatever attack?

I'm just one guy with the same scant evidence, but I actually don't believe it was Iran.

I think there are very powerful outside forces which want the US military to take out their garbage.

It's like back in college, when you couldn't stand tons of dirty dishes in the sink, got fed up and did them --that sent a message to everyone else, "We have a SUCKER..!" Lo and behold by some magical force YOU gradually become the unpaid dish washer for all the guys in the house.

Ya know what? I'm tired as hell of washing everyone's dishes.

Now there are Iranian dishes sitting there, but yeah, uh...NO.

AC, neither is Trump. He is contemplating action on a regime that threatens a vital worldwide commodity. And, in case some people don’t realize it a threat to a vital worldwide commodity INCLUDES the USA. Every family and Every Industry.
And, I must repeat this fact, Iran is responsible for more DEATHS of Americans since the 70’s than any other country on earth. Long past time for retribution.

Because Iran supports terrorism in a big way. More $ to Iran helps them to create more terrorists. Why does that have to be explained?

“Iran has only one reason to drag the U.S. into another military conflict”

It could also be a desperate attempt to get the US to ease up the sanctions, or to distract their population (or justify harsh wartime restrictions on the population, and be able to blame America and Israel, as usual).

In May sanctions were imposed to outlaw all Iranian oil exports - which funds the majority of their Government.

The wheels are coming off. They have to make something change quick. They tried to impede tanker traffic, but were ineffective. This is a big escalation, and a major cause for war.

They might want a war, just to rally/control the domestic population, but they desperately need some kind of a change.

Looks like Freedonia is going to war! We can help Saudi Arabia in her hour of need. The Iranians have been spoiling for a fight for some time.

The biggest state sponsors of terrorism in the world today are Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Pakistan’s intelligence agency was sheltering Osama bin Laden for years after he fled from Afghanistan, for heaven’s sake. And yet we have amicable relations with those countries!

Going into Iraq and killing Saddam strengthened Iran. Reagan did nothing to Iran. Bush invaded Iraq for WMD. If Trump attacks Iran, it will ruin his chances next year. Someone wants us to attack Iran. I have no idea who, but thanks to George, who will believe our excusrs for attack?

That is what you call an ad hominem. It is a way of name calling, shaming others because they don’t completely share your opinion. You have expressed your opinion often and it is known. Labeling people ‘globalist’ because on certain points they have a different opinions ad hominem, and it’s getting tiring.

Sorry — maybe I wasn’t clear about that.

You’ve got FReepers posting on threads today suggesting that the U.S. has a reason to get involved in yet ANOTHER military conflict in the Middle East because we have vested interest in the flow of cheap oil. My point about Iraq is that a major military campaign is actually more likely to make oil more expensive, not cheaper.

I saw news reports a few weeks ago that the Trump Administration was planning to unveil their Arab-Israeli peace plan soon.

Maybe this is it - everybody join hands, and bomb the crap out of Iran together.

Gaijin, President Trump says we have very good evidence the attack came from Iran. Until it’s proven otherwise I have no reason to doubt this president. We have a great many assets monitoring activity in Iran.
Furthermore, visual evidence of the result of the attack on the Saudi facility gives clues as to the TRAJECTORY of the weapons and the power of the weapons used in the attack.
The Saudi’s say it was not a Drone attack but was a missile attack. Visual evidence of this distinction is easy to make.
In light of current day occurrences with the Deep State silent coup attempt against President Trump result in justifiable distrust of the intentions of our “Intelligence Community”.
I get that but, I have faith in President Trump and his instincts. He’s survived because of his instincts, an unprecedented assault on his presidency. And, until I know different I trust his judgement and his word.

Fine ... but Donald Trump is President today, and Jeb Bush dropped out of the 2016 campaign as a disgraced piece of sh!t, because an awful lot of Americans got sick of the endless military campaigns the U.S. has been waging in these Islamic dumps.

If you find that “tiring,” then I really don’t know what to say.

MAGA.
