Anti-vaccine activists disrupted the California Assembly’s Appropriations Committee Friday in another late attempt to derail a proposed law that would restrict children’s medical exemptions for vaccines that are mandatory in schools.
The proposal, Senate Bill 276, cleared the committee, setting up a vote on the Assembly floor before moving to Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Several vaccine activists began standing on chairs in the committee room Friday morning, chanting, “You have not represented California for all.”

Send them and their children to the border to stay with illegals infesting the country. See how they like getting sick without their immunizations. See them sober up as their kids get sick and die. No sane person who loves their kids, who respects their community would skip normal, established vaccinations.

I got polio back in 1955, just before the vaccine came out. Lucky for me it only affected my back with 50% nerve damage. But I have have spent a life time of back pain and eventually back surgery a few years ago. I only wish the vaccine had come out earlier.
The only people pushing the thimerosal hysteria are people that object to vaccines for other reasons.
When did vaccines become harmful? I’m a baby boomer. My generation was vaccinated and has had a long life expectancy. In fact I get the impression we’re not dying off fast enough to suit some of the pudgier millennials

I still remember Sunday morning when my family left Church and went to a nearby High School get the Salk sugar cubes.
I didn’t see anything wrong with that then (ie, lack of faith, etc) and I don’t seen anything wrong with that now.
The only legitimate beef about vaccines is that they are putting FAR too many shots into FAR too young children FAR too often.
Giving shots fresh outta the womb, then every 3-6 months with 4 or more actives is WAY over the top!
Seriously, we boomer kids got lots of shots, but they were a LONG ways apart, and didn’t start until we were past the colostrum stage.

I was born just after the vaccine became available. At the other end, I turned 18 just before they ended the draft. So I should count my blessings for fortunate timing
Don, there are more vaccines available today.
Yes, there are more shots, but kids are better protected too.
Kids can die from some of these diseases. They can also have lifelong system problems because they had some of these childhood diseases.
I know a kid who had severe light sensitivity due to a bout with a childhood disease.
As Don W. said, our childhood vaccination schedule was nothing like today’s.
My generation received a few vaccination shots over the course of our childhoods.
But my children’s generation were REQUIRED 19 shots between newborn and age 2. Then booster shots at age 6. And more booster shots at age 12. And more and more shots were added.
Today’s generation has closer to 30 REQUIRED shots by age 2. Then more and more shots.

Putting the number of vaccines and boosters into children as young as HOURS old, which is the current practice, is WRONG WRONG WRONG!!

I was 6 years old living at Ft Walton Beach, FL. (Eglin AFB) We lived at 608 Bay St. I remember it well. My next door neighbor, the lady of the house, was in an iron lung. She would see us in her mirror above her head as she lay on her back, and we would talk to her.
It was terrifying. Kids would get the “flu” or a cold, and then paralysis set in. Some young adults, like my neighbor were also stricken.
We got the shot. And then another sometime later. My sister and I never got polio, thanks to Dr Salk.
Years later, a genetic engineer of some repute, explained that when they put the dead virus in the egg to make the vaccine, they would centrifuge it and thus created the first genetic accident. He said that SV40 was the same size as the desired polio virus, and was included with the now harmless polio (that we would create antibodies for) and we all got a dose of it as well.

the problem is that it is a latent virus....plants itself in the spinal column and can be activated (why?) many years later....he said....about the time we are all 70....right about now....there is/was no way to know if what he said is true.
So, I don’t know if its true....but this is why so many are afraid of vaccines. we don’t know what we don’t know.
and we may not find out until its too late.
people can approach this issue from their own understanding and beliefs. the children are not making the decision. as a parent, its your job to weigh the risks and say yes or no....
now, apparently, only “yes” is allowed.

It is anti-science, not using what we now know about immunity and gut bacteria and genetics to prepare, test for, and give vaccines safely. As it now stands, the primitive formulations and the ghastly timing of vaccines to infants and toddlers is NEUROTOXIC though the effects might show up anywhere from immediately to 70 years later.
Also, it is proof our country is nowhere near a free republic if we force controversial medical treatments on children without consent of their parents.
I read it, and I understand your point about age.
It has been deemed safe to do this, and it gets kids immunized sooner. The sooner they are protected, the safer they are.
Look, there’s not a broad indication that this is wrong. Kids are handling the vaccines.
While it may sound wrong to you and I, if the numbers don’t show bad reactions, I fail to see a problem here.
Are you aware of a study that indicates reveals infants are being harmed?
