Need assistance contacting Secret Service concerning disturbing Youtube comment....

Hey all-

I was razzing CNN libtards and posted a comment and recieved a very very dark and disturbing reply wayyyyy out of line.

I want to report it but the Secret Service site wants to route me to a local office. Is that where i need to contact with the lead?

The onus is on us to do mental health healh checks and determine threat level. Our respective levels of government shed that nasty business decades back.

We hired so many crazy people over the last few years... we can pick them out like ripe plums, before going through the ordeal after bringing them in.

I get that the reply represents a possibly real threat. My question was directed to why the Secret Service, of all federal agencies, would get involved with a situation between two private citizens. Not arguing; just trying to understand.

Unfortunately I have witnessed the very same sentiments posted here against politicians on the left who are also protected by the secret service. I wish they would stop this ignorance because it lowers the moral standard and integrity of the whole community here and all conservatives in general.

As stated, it’s not a threat. Words have meanings. Wishing someone else would do harm to the target is not a threat.

I know that the words “bomb,” “gun,” “bang,” spoken at an airport are taken as threats, even if they are spoken in a context that does not indicate a threat. But that’s an airport. This is a posting.

The Secret Service is tasked with investigating threats against the lives of the President, Vice President and their families. This is also extended to presidential candidates during times of electioneering. This is also extended to former presidents and vice presidents.

Threats against members of Congress or Supreme Court justices, for example, would be reported to the FBI or capital security.

You are in for a depressing but enlightening experience. I once called the FBI about a couple of suspicious muslims with a rental truck back in the 911 heyday when I still believed a building could organically implode on itself. The person I spoke with asked me what what language they were speaking. I said I was pretty sure it was arabic and it definitely was not spanish. She then asked me if it was Mexican. My sincere apologies. I initially read the post as if the deranged person had threatened the person posting, not the President. Some years back, we had a neighbor that was on Vice President Gore’s protection detail, so I understand the Service’s responsibilities. Again, my short-sighted apologies.
