Former U.S. Attorney Guy Lewis predicted the Justice Department inspector general's report on alleged Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuses will be "hard-hitting," with multiple recommendations for prosecution.
During an interview Monday on Fox News, Lewis said he used to work with Inspector General Michael Horowitz at the Justice Department and called him as "tough as a nail." Lewis added, "Hes tough, he is smart, and I think the report will be a blockbuster." He expects Horowitz's findings to make special counsel Robert Mueller's report on Russian interference in the 2016 election "look like a sixth grade book report."
Asked to explain why, Lewis said, "Its going to come out. Its going to be hard-hitting. [Horowitz] spent almost two years interviewing various people witnesses. Looking at what he describes [as] almost a million documents. And I think hes going to make recommendations regarding prosecution and turn this whole FISA this Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act the submissions, I think he will turn them on their head."
British ex-spy Christopher Steele's anti-Trump dossier, which was funded by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, was used by the FBI to obtain FISA warrants to surveil one-time Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, an American citizen who was never charged with any wrongdoing.
Republicans have argued the dossier's Democratic benefactors and its author's anti-Trump bias were left out of the FISA applications and have demanded accountability. Democrats countered that the FBI acted appropriately, saying the Justice Department and the FBI met the rigor, transparency, and evidentiary basis for probable cause.

Coats even more so
THIS matters! the bureaucratic abuse of US Citizens! Someone should pay a price for this but I live in the real world where those ‘connected’ go scot free.
Nonsense. A “blockbuster” would lead to arrests.
Not one Deep State coupster has been indicted. This report won’t change that.
Yes, Justice and Intel are both dragging their feet. Both have been politically weaponized.
DC = The District of Corruption.
Someone should pay a price for this but I live in the real world where those connected go scot free.

Most Americans don’t seem to care. I hate to say that about our fellow countrymen but where’s the outrage? The Swamp knows the longer they drag this out the more people will just move on and forget about it all.
And before long another outrageous scandal and/or more government malfeasance and dysfunction will pop up and serve as convenient distractions. Too many scandals, hypocrisy and abuses of power to keep up with.
When oh when are even FR's best posters ever going to learn? Never in the annals of history has any one/group willingly given up power. It must be seized by force of arms; and typically just results in another cabal assuming control. (Hopefully, your group.)
Just once in the entire time line of human engagement have the common people ever reached any semblance of equality. And why? Because, for the first time in history, the common man could posses equal arms: firearms, cannon and ships of war. And hence, the success of 1776.
But how long did this period last? How long before deep seated motivations to 'run the board' and control the entire game began to re-emerge? After all, what loyalty/allegiance would the elite have to a dated piece of parchment if it actually provided adversaries ie citizens aka peasants, with key strengths and advantages?
You wouldn't, now would you? Rather, you'd work diligently to reduce that paper to the status of a dead letter. And that's exactly what the deep state did - approx 110 years ago to be precise. The USA republic actually died circa 1910-1914 - just in time (purely coincidentally 'natch) for WW1.
Since then, it's been this ridiculous pantomime, while the common person toils, pays taxes and complains. Yet, somehow, some way, commoners think that they still hold the cards, and it's the elite who are *abusing their power*. Sorry, but if you clear your head, step back and view the playing field from a macro perspective, the current situation is no different than if you were a Roman citizen 2,000 years ago.
Those in power are simply exercising their will to determine future outcomes, while some are left to vent on FR. It's a fantasy - it's why I call FR 'conservative porn', because it appeals to those still deluded enough to think they somehow have any power. And to cap it all off, we've got this pied piper spinning a nice tale that some day, you'll get yours. LOL
In reality, it should be patriots who are doing the kneeling. The flag, service members and military in general don't support your freedom and liberty. Rather, the military is the bulwark by which the deep state can literally 'drink your milkshake', steal your woman, and dare you to do anything about it.
The guy did not need to impugn our 6th graders.
Dang Mulehead belongs in jail. Choosing to “examine” only collusion events after he was appointed. Like he examined anything—much less any events after his appointment. Jail the buzzard.
Where in all of DC is found one honest man?
Like “military intelligence,” “jumbo shrimp,” and “logical leftist.”
The weird thing is that you have more freedom now in less developed shit-hole countires. People drive all over the Philippines on scooters with no licenses and helmets, while theoretically required, are often not used.
Basically, any moderately successful American lives in a constant state of bureaucratic malaise, trying to comply with all the forms and deadlines for everyday life.
No, he wont. Its been long enough. If Trump intended to restore the rule of law then all the criminals from Obama, Hitlery, Steele, ey Al., Would already have been indicted. - - -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
would already have been indicted ??????
How exactly do you know that some of the THOUSANDS OF SEALED INDICTMENTS THAT WE KNOW ABOUT -— are NOT these???
Yep. The “conservative porn” aspect is a modern variety of circuses, sprinkled with a dose of “rule of law” myth.
Hugh AND Series!
You can bet on it 'cuz Hannity's whole family is in law enforcement and his mother is a prison guard, I tell ya, a real full time and overtime even, prison guard.....
Bull.
Bull.
Indictments and jail time matter. Reports? Not so much.
“THOUSANDS OF SEALED INDICTMENTS THAT WE KNOW ABOUT - are NOT these???”
Well, I certainly know they haven’t been opened. Until they are, they are useless.
Let me know when DOJ declines prosecution, like for Comey and McCabe.
Yeah, yeah, yeah - and the IG’s report on the Comey phase of the whole sordid affair was supposed to be released last Thursday (even though the DOJ had already announced it would not prosecute Comey on any of the IG recommendations) - no report, no sign of a report, no hope of accountability even if and when a report does show up - not looking forward to anything at this point.....
When dammit?
Come on ya slow ass.
Release the reports already.
Starting to have as much confidence in Barr as the last baboso’s.
