Joe Biden has expanded his edge over the Democratic field in a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, with 29% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning registered voters saying they back the former vice president.
That's up 7 points compared with a late June CNN survey. No other candidate has made meaningful gains over that time.

I have long thought that it’d be Biden/Harris on the democratic ticket.
It’s not an issue of her qualifications or likability, but it’s all in her sex/color. She’ll be able to draw more black voters to the ballot box than Hillary was able to muster. But I do think she’ll turn off the more moderate voters.
I think Trump/Pence beats any combo the democrats have at this point.
Amazing how ONE stupid Republican move (fubaring the Flint water system) turned political fortunes in that state on a dime.
Damn....... what a photo.
Deluded sycophants trying to make themselves part of someting important.
That is truly a picture for the history books
Not even eligible, not even a little bit, she was born with THREE nationalities.
Natural born citizens are NATURALLY citizens because they can’t possibly be anything else and have only ONE nationality.
The children of foreign nationals are PRECISELY who the founders were excluding.
she was born with THREE nationalities.

Kinda like that Cruz candidate....
Remember, my FRiend, they used to say this about Donald Trump during the 2016 primaries, too.
I think the big thing for the democrats will be “not” nominating a Socialist.
If they do, Trump wins.
Biden is further away from this label than the other top democrats, but a walking/talking gaff machine and all round dum bass. But even with all that, he has the best chance to win (which isn’t a big chance).
Disaster for Pelosi and Schumer? I like it, I like it!
Nope, she clearly is not eligible, however it is very curious that no one in media or office mentions this obvious fact.
However, at least in this case, it isn’t going to matter, because this toad of a candidate is going nowhere.
Not quite the same. The Dems have moved ideologically to the far left. Although Biden has moved reluctantly with them, he is still perceived as a "moderate." His name recognition and association with Obama have put him in the lead for now. Trump was the outsider who was not part of the GOPe. Cruz was also an anti-Establishment candidate and so was Carson to a certain extent. Trump led from the very beginning and continued to increase his support as the field narrowed.
Biden is the nominal Establishment candidate in a party that is moving away from him. The Dem primary system does not have winner take all primaries and the influence of the super-delegates has been reduced from 2016. As the Dem field narrows, will Biden's support increase? I don't think so. Medicare for all, the new Green Deal, medical care for illegal aliens, and reparations have been supported by Bernie, Warren, Harris, Booker, and others. Biden has moved in that direction as well. I can see a brokered convention, which is where Biden could find himself at a disadvantage if he has 25% of the delegates, an optimistic estimate. The party will opt for someone other than male, pale, and stale Joe. An old white man at the top of the ticket does not give them the best chance to win.
The Dems have two boxes that must be checked for their ticket, i.e., a woman and a minority. This dictates the composition of the ticket in a party that sees everything thru the prism of identity politics. The Dems will not repeat the mistake of 2016 of nominating two non-Hispanic whites. About 40% of the Dem vote comes from minorities. And if one of the main themes of the 2020 race is that Trump is a racist, you need a minority on the ticket.
Any Dem will be competitive given the changing demography of the country and the number of locked electoral votes that any Dem starts with. There is a reason why the Dems have won the popular vote in 6 out of the last 7 elections.
