PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — At least four Philadelphia police officers were shot in Philadelphia’s Nicetown-Tioga section and rushed to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon. Another officer suffered a non-shooting injury during the incident. The officers were taken to Temple University Hospital, where dozens of officers have surrounded the hospital.
Police tell CBS3 that the injuries the officers sustained are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Mayor Jim Kenney and Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross are heading to Temple University Hospital.
Chopper 3 was over the scene where police could be seen taking a man into custody. It’s not clear what the man’s role was in the incident.
Police say the shooting happened on the 3700 block of North 15th Street, where it’s still an active scene.
Police were first called to the scene for narcotics activity, according to Philadelphia Police Capt. Sekou Kinebrew.
Sources tell CBS3 that the scene is sheer chaos as officers were taking fire. Video from Chopper 3 shows officers with guns drawn at the scene.

There is a large police presence and citizens are advised to avoid the area. Several blocks around the scene have been cordoned off. Most of North Philadelphia is in gridlock due to the police presence.
Lockdown is in effect for Health Sciences Center Campus. Seek shelter. Secure doors. Be silent. Be still. Police are responding.

Something jogged my memory finally. Obama forced local law enforcement agencies to return military surplus armored vehicles -—and they did. My wife and I saw a couple being driven slowly away. Sad.
Why did Obama order it? He thought the urban residents would feel like they were facing militaristic police forces and they would feel intimidated.
Now people and police face “a war zone” for hours of danger and evacuations. We need the vehicles. Didn’t Trump do something about that recently?

Nicetown does not sound like a very nice part of town.
So when is the media going to blame “Black Lives Matter” and their violent anti-police rhetoric for these shootings in the city lacking brotherly love? When it snows in Philadelphia in August, that’s when.
And then you have Kamala Harris and the fake Indian Elizabeth Warren calling Michael Brown’s death in Ferguson, Missouri five years ago “a murder.” Two pathetic “presidential” candidates stoking the racial flames against police by lying about what really happened.
Brown committed a strong arm robbery and then tried to pull a police officer’s gun out of his holster. No wonder he got shot. And then all those “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” lies. BS.

“Update: 2 PPD Officers who were in house with shooter have been safely evacuated by PPD SWAT. Suspect is still armed and inside house. Continue to avoid the area,” a police spokesman tweeted at 9:36 p.m.
If the suspect is the only one in the house time to give it the MOVE treatment!
Why bother seeking a narcotics warrant? It’s risky and I doubt it will reduce narcotic trafficking or overdose deaths.
These people are going to do drugs anyways, so why waste police lives on this. It would be better spend resources at the border to reduce trafficking into the country. I recommend pulling out the forces guarding the poppy fields in Afganistan.
Let’s face it, the Feds want to keep the war on drugs going forever. It makes too much money. The don’t want to stop the traffickers at the border.
