Obama once protested that he was no king who could open the border and grant amnesties by fiat. Yet his view of immigration has metamorphosed well beyond Dreamers into Democratic candidates going into Mexico to escort aliens unlawfully into our country — and 500 sanctuary jurisdictions in which federal immigration law is all but null and void.

the way that aoc is acting reminds me of how hitler took power in Germany…. you had Paul von Hindenburg slowly seed power to the Nazi to try and stabilize there country....the demacrat party is not a country but you have an old Pelosi slowly seeding power to the justice democrats… I had to do the Nazi reference because of how much the democrats do false equivalency using the Nazi narrative.

I disagree. The Squad perfectly represents the Democrat party of old. The represent savage power grabbers who will enslave their fellow Americans and reduce us to the level of Stalin’s USSR.
If I were a Democrat and I was in Nancy’s position, I would try to get all of my allies in the party to stop responding to or commenting on “The Squad.” It’s hard to keep a family squabble going if one side goes silent. The Squad will amplify, elevate and out-do themselves in their attacks and will look more and more the clowns they are. If the only thing Nancy and her allies do is conduct the government’s business, while ignoring the kids in the back seat, they will look like the adults in the clown car. This fight only entertains Republicans and enlightens middle-of-the road voters.
I could, given enough Tequila, feel sorry for Nancy. This is a lose/lose for her and the party.
It’s far far too late.

Not that I’m trying to help the Democrats here, and, I understand what I’m about to say would never happen. The Democratic party needs a new identity and a new focus or it is doomed. To achieve that would take a well thought-out plan, plenty of money, and a complete change in leadership. The new leaders should be centrists in the House and the Senate. (Or, at least politicians who can channel a centrist in a séance.) This new approach would condemn socialism, support the white middle class and eschew the race card and identity politics.
The reason I can say this and not feel I am helping the Democrats is, it could never happen. The current leaders fought and clawed their way to power and would do anything to keep it. The only way they will retire is when The Grim Reaper shows up in their office. (”Excuse me. Did you make an appointment?”) Also, the party has defined itself around identity politics. That is the ground they have taken and that’s the ground this iteration of the party will die on. (”Well, how do I know you’re the real Grim Reaper? Do you have credentials?”)

As the war rages, I believe there are within the ranks cowards and pacifists. These individuals have no strength of purpose to engage. They will step aside rather than summon the guts to engage.
Women who live by consensus will have no consensus and will aimlessly do nothing. The cohesion is destroyed. The party is gone.
There is no leader with the charisma required to gather consensus and win
The Democrats need to be the workers party ( labor ) and push protectionism and very limited legal immigration. Such a party would sweep everything.
