Because we as Christians don't pray for them enough.
There's a second example, but it was over a century ago. James Clark McReynolds was Woodrow Wilson's loyal Attorney General and a proud lifelong RAT. Wilson appointed him to SCOTUS with the expectation that McRenynolds would be a good reliable "progressive" DemonRat and vote on all kinds of liberal feel-good federal goodies. Instead, McReynolds morphed into a staunch conservative limited government advocate and became one of the most outspoken opponents of New Deal legislation during FDR's regime. His refusal to budge is one of the reasons FDR desperately tried to pull off his court-packing scheme.
One of the reasons there's so few examples of RAT SCOTUS appointees going rogue is that very few RATs actually got appointed in recent decades. Ike, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, the two Bush's, and Trump got to appoints tons of "Republican" judges. RATs like Jimmy Carter got to appoint zilch, while Obama and Clinton got only 2 each.
God doesnt want them.
Byron “Whizzer” White (usually more conservative than liberal” appointed by John Kennedy
White was seen as a disappointment by some Kennedy supporters who wished he had joined the more liberal wing of the court in its opinions on Miranda v. Arizona and Roe v. Wade.
I won’t speak ill of the dead. I will just say that it is with great regret that I have alwasy noted that he was a graduate of the same law school as I.
He is preceded in death by 63 million babies, women, children, and mothers whom he supported aborting.
The reason some turn: The left dominates the main stream media, most of education, law school (where the law clerks come from) and much of social media-the left pressures and applauds what they want, values come from secular viewpoint- (according to Gallup survey 25% of college professors are avowed atheist)-anything else is derided.
btw its the same reason church attendance is falling-the college influence
“Why do these evil bastards live so long?”
Obamacare?
Stevens was the clown who wanted to repeal the Second Amendment, correct?
Yup. Makes it a lot easier to impose your Communo-Fascist agenda when the populace is disarmed.
Gee ... it must have really sucked for him, going to his final hours, knowing he FAILED in that regard.
Stevens did get one thing right. In City of New York v. Clinton, he correctly concluded that the line item veto violated the Constitution. In order for it to be legal, the Constitution would have to be amended.
We need that line item veto. I loved to hear how that was found unconstitutional. SCOTUS sucks. Affirmative Action is a clear violation of the Constitution equal protection clause. SO if the can do that then screw all of their rulings.
RBG is still alive. So is traitor JR
I think it’s too soon to know for sure whether Kavanaugh is a phony. But I am wary.
The Constitution sez a President can sign, veto, or withhold his signature from a bill - AS WRITTEN BY THE LEGISLATORS. THAT’S IT.
Any change to the text of a bill renders it as NOT having been passed by Congress. This includes insertions and deletions - even punctuation.
Therefore, absent a Constitutional Amendment, the line item veto is invalid.
JFK got Byron "Whizzer" White (a former Heisman Trophy winner) onto the Supreme Court and he turned into a solid pro-life conservative. Of course, we're talking 60 years ago. I think Democrats have, since then, decided they would never let that happen again. From Clinton and Obama, there is nothing but a steady stream of far-left judges.
No appeals now. Meet THE judge.
