This is a pretty aggressive argument from DOJ, basically saying that Congress is lying about its purpose for wanting the presidents tax returns" Perhaps Congress will re-phrase: "We're just desperately seeking something -- anything! -- we can use to impeach this legally and properly elected president."

I wish Trump would tell them that when all House members release their tax records, he will too.
End of problem.

"we agreed that the committee lacked a legitimate legislative purpose for its request" Damned right. I's a political fishing expedition and a blatant violation of the constitution.

Here's the deal. Let us see every single unredacted tax return for every single member of Congress dating back to 10 years before they each took office.
Then we will consider the possibility of releasing Presidential tax returns for everyone who has ever occupied that office.

The odds that they don’t ALREADY have Trump’s taxes are pretty much zero. There are “resistance” folks throughout the IRS who know they will be protected as Lois Lerner was.

“I’m the President’s wingman”. Quite by Eric Holder, when Obama was implementing transformational policies, stretching the limits of executive power.

This is a pretty aggressive argument from DOJ, basically saying that Congress is lying about its purpose for wanting the presidents tax returns and that as a result, the IRS need not provide them even though the statute doesnt require Congress to have *any* reason, USA Today reporter Brad Heath Said. Why in the hell is a reporter's opinion being reported as part of the news story?

"...the committee lacked a legitimate legislative purpose for its request, Engel wrote. Exactly. The congressional Dems had better come up with a damn good reason for wanting to see the President's tax returns, if they want to see them released. And it had better be with the President's permission - not some court order.

Congress should be lucky at this point that they still have paychecks. Over 20 trillion in debt and they have the nerve to ask Trump for his financial records. Lol.
