President Trumps pick to be the nations first-ever border czar is a longtime former cop and immigration official who takes a hard line on illegal crossings.
Former acting ICE Director Thomas Homan told Secrets early in the Trump administration, for example, that he views every unauthorized border crossing as a crime that can and should be punished.
"If you are in this country illegally, and you committed a crime by entering this country, you should be uncomfortable, you should look over your shoulder, and you need to be worried," Homan told Secrets.
"No population is off the table," he told a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing in 2017. "We'll issue detainers to anybody in the country illegally," he said. "Our priorities are criminals first, but if you're asking me if we are going to put detainers on people that have not been convicted of a crime, yes we will," he added referring to the first step in deportation.
All we have heard from a succession of immigration officials even going back to the Obama administration is that the border crisis cannot be solved until Congress acts. Tom Homan is a man of action, so I expect that mind-set and that narrative to change, added Jessica M. Vaughan, director of policy studies for the Center for Immigration Studies.
I think that Ken Cuccinelli and Tom Homan will work well together, because Cuccinelli also wants to hit the ground running and has ideas for how to tackle the border crisis. They are both rule-of-law kind of guys. One thing that Cuccinelli brings to the operation is his understanding of how states can be full and constructive partners in immigration enforcement, she told Secret.

Asset forfeiture. That would get some of the state and local jurisdictions to cooperate. And if some federal, state and local politicians, judges, law enforcement, bureaucrats, etc., refuse to cooperate, arrest their butts for treason, and take their stuff too.
They’re going to need lots of ICE for those
sore necks. There are approximately 20,000
ICE officers who are tasked with rounding
up millions of illegals. And ICE officers
are hindered from making arrests by stupid
sanctuary laws. Sheriff and LEO officers
should be given the authority to arrest
and detain illegals for ICE to deport.
We need an Army, not a squad.
Ditto that!
LOL
They have to go back.
Im really not gung ho on deporting old timers who stayed out of trouble and self-supported with menial jobs all these years. Some still pulling asparagus, etc., around here. Should be the very lowest priority.
> YEP. E-Verify, this the only way to stop this flow of invaders.
I bet I could come up with a dozen ways to stop and reverse the flow of invaders that require little to no imposition on any US citizen, as e-verify does.
All that is really required is the will to get the job done. When that happens we will have a wealth of very good options.
For example, if we take everything we got in Afghanistan and repurpose it against the Mexican narco-cartels, that would solve two massive problems at once.
All illegals should be deported and start with those who have been violating our laws for years. And no amnesty because somebody is a crime victim. The worst of people can also become victims.
Trump tweeted today that by the end of the year, 400 miles of wall will be done.
Arrest the entire democrat party.
the Democrat Party ARE the cops anymore, corrupt and politicized like in NAZI Germany
Deport all illegals!!!
Why appoint an immigration czar when there has been no appointmnent made yet to the head of DHS? Why not put him in charge of DHS where he actually has rhe ability to do something?
Start by posting ICE agents at every food stamp, welfare, and assistance office.
Go to any Home Depot or Lowes. Go to any hospital, clinic, school, etc.
All hiding in the shadows
This won’t change anything.
The 3rd world is here and will continue to come until this nation is sunk. Then, they’ll go elsewhere. Like locusts.
Exactly. Additionally, we don't need a "czar" since the Constitution grants the President absolute authority over immigration issues and dealing with aliens and defending the border, with no oversight granted to congress or the courts on this matter. The law is very clear on this.
Despite that fact, this president has refused to exercise his constitutional authority on the defense of the border so all of this is just "window dressing" to make it look like he is doing something about the invasion when he is not and doesn't intend to.
The only thing he's really doing is listening to those two New York Manhattanite liberal alien-lovers, Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner.
The truth of this will come out in fifty years, when historians reveal that Trump's campaign promises were suborned by his own daughter and son-in-law.
Agree. Deportation is not a matter of “life, liberty, or property,” per the 14th Amendment. No due process of law required.
Any ICE supervisor should have the authority to deport illegals back to where they came from.
Disregarding our laws, while continuing to identify with their nation of origin, and while harboring resentment against Americans, is in a very real way an act of war - and should be viewed and treated as such.
I knew some thieves. Really nice guys, actually. They just liked other peoples stuff. Theyre older now. Still thieving, but older. Leave em alone?
