RUSH: I was perusing the Drudge page over the top of the hour break.
Man, the Drudge page. Depending on the time you look at it, I mean, it makes it look like this country’s finished, we’re done, it’s over. You may as well forget about it and just enjoy your life. Well, let me give an example. Let me just give you these headlines. Ready? “U.S. Cities Overwhelmed with Illegals from Ebola Countries.” (Snort!) Do you know what Ebola is? If you’ve got it, you’re dead. There’s no cure for Ebola, particularly if it’s Ebola Zaire. You get that, and it’s, “Sayonara.” There isn’t any cure.
Now the U.S. is “Overwhelmed with Illegals from Ebola Countries.” Not that they have Ebola, but who’s gonna stop and make that distinction? Next headline: “Not Being Screened, Not Being Quarantined.” (laughing) “California Desert Town Sees Migrant Surge as Crisis Worsens.” “Nonstop Dumping: ‘New Phenomenon.'” “Crawling Out of Manholes in El Paso.” The illegals are in the sewer system and they’re popping up out of manhole covers in El Paso, folks — and there’s nothing anybody can do about it.
“Trump: Mexico Doing Great Job at Border, Really Helping Us.” Now, Drudge puts that under those four headlines that we’re being overrun by Ebola, and illegals are swarming El Paso through manhole covers. Next headline: “Private Wall Group Ordered to Keep Gate Open.” (laughing) So got this guy that is running a GoFundMe page to get money to build the wall and building the wall and somebody’s telling him he can’t close it. (laughing)

You are correct about his success but miss the point about his anti Trump bias.
And it’s not because he’s a news aggregator. He was also anti both Clintons.

Yeah but Ebola stories are just sensational. It takes bias to endlessly run headlines about economic suffering when we’re in boom times.

when I did read Drudge, I just skipped over the hollywood stories etc......just like I can't stand to listen to Rush as he drags on about the nfl or golf....

Yes I’m just saying I can defend him running an Ebola story. He runs a LOT of failing economy stories to undercut Trump.
On the border, at least he’s demanding results from Trump. But failing to headline the Mexico deal was blatant.

If I knew how to make memes, I’d do a satirical Drudge page with a big central photo & headline of Batboy making spurious claims about Trump.
The rest of the page would be fake headlines interspersed with & indisguishable from real ones... pretty much like the real Drudge page is lately.
Drudge was fun back in the Lewinsky days.

The outsized influence that Drudge once wielded looks pretty comical in hindsight, especially when visiting his largely unchanged, 90’s-looking little news aggregator page, something of which I’ve done so little in the past year that I don’t honestly know or care what’s being posted there. I find that I don’t miss the inevitable penis-related article link tucked in there somewhere, 5 days a week and left up during the weekend off. The Drudge Report is sliding into irrelevancy more slowly than I would have thought, but sliding it is.
