WH blocked intelligence agency’s written testimony calling climate change ‘possibly catastrophic’

White House officials barred a State Department intelligence agency from submitting written testimony this week to the House Intelligence Committee warning that human-caused climate change is “possibly catastrophic.” The move came after State officials refused to excise the document’s references to federal scientific findings on climate change.

The effort to edit, and ultimately suppress, the prepared testimony by the State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research comes as the Trump administration is debating how best to challenge the fact that burning fossil fuels is warming the planet and could pose serious risks unless the world makes deep cuts in greenhouse gas emissions over the next decade. Senior military and intelligence officials have continued to warn climate change could undermine America’s national security — a position President Trump rejects.

Some years ago, I lived in Manassas, VA. I had an acquaintance there who was a career Civil Service employee in Health and Human Services, and when “W” became President, she was a GS 15, but was not a Republican.

Her boss was, so she was removed FRom her position (shunted aside) and instructed to do nothing. She went to work every day, did nothing except manage her side E Bay business, and came home. Every day that W was President!

That, of course, is FRaud, but it is never prosecuted.

The Hell of it is, everybody in Washington DC knows that the out of office Party folks are there doing damage to the in office Party folks, (i.e., the winner), but nothing, under the rules, can be done about it.

I suspect that President Trump has a White House study committee working on the problem, and after he wins the 2020 election, a lotta heads are gonna roll!

I sure hope so!

The entire federal government is infested with them, as are local and state governments.

“Civil Service” jobs at all government levels are overrun with slugs who cannot be removed.

Disgraceful!

And the shame of it is, there are some really good, conscientious government employees who are as (if not more!) FRustrated with them as are you and I.

USA does not need intelligence agencies like these. DC is off the rails. An election won’t fix these kind of things... DC is insane.

And what a BS headline.

Every Hipster, Liberal, et al in the world will just read the headline and go into convulsions. They won’t get to the part where it says the White House asked for their sources and research, so the report can be reviewed.

The government shuts down every single weekend and on national/federal holidays. We can get by for a little while. I’m sure most things like SS checks are automated. Time for pretty much every single person in the federal government to be fired and then have to resubmit their resumes for getting their jobs back, to include their voter registration, voting history, all social media scrutinized and research who/what they donated to or volunteered for.

If it’s shown that your a Leftist, of any kind or degree, good luck in the private sector.

More importantly, why does such an office even exist in the State Dept? State Dept is there to project US foreign policy and to assist US citizens abroad, what do these people do, that can’t be done or isn’t being done by someone else?

But then they Double Dog Dare you and say, Fire Me. Then they run to their nearest AFSCME union rep and sue to keep or get their job back, with backpay if required. After which they are untouchable.

I’ve protected them in Iraq. I’ve listened to their conversations at the DFAC and coffee shop. There is one thing about America that they love. They love the fact that the American taxpayer will pay their salary(a good one at that), while living all over the world(virtually without any bills...and now with international cellphones they don’t even have to pay for skype), pay for their air travel, pay for their graduate degrees, be degenerates in a foreign country while enjoying diplomatic immunity, just to name a few things.

Outside of that, they HATE the USA.

The Department’s Office of Geography and Global Affairs is situated in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research. As I read this more carefully the analyst pulled a no-no and tried to interject his own political ideology without peer review. If it weren’t for the fact that so few people are ever fired in government I would think he’d be looking for a new job.

Yes, I know.

Some years ago, I saw a flow diagram that clearly demonstrated just how difficult it is to fire a GS employee.

Boggled my mind - it takes years, costs a lot of money and time, and, generally is not worth the considerable effort it takes to get done.

So, the disfavored employee is shuffled off to a “safe space” and allowed to draw pay and benefits. Paid for doing nothing, but no longer able to throw sand in the gears!

And do you remember how, not too long ago, the President wanted to change the civil service rules so they could be fired. Folks went nuts, he was sued( I believe...imagine that), and the change went nowhere. Nice racket, if you can land it.

I think this is funny.

“Hey, State Dept Intel guys, show us the research you used to compile this report.”....No....”Okay then. Denied. Next.”
