Andy Puzder: No, the May jobs report does not mean the Trump economy is on the brink

Andy Puzder | Fox News
June 7, 2019

"...the very fact that they’re complaining about the creation of tens of thousands of new jobs in a single month is a powerful rebuttal to their biased premise.

Apparently, the Trump economy has been so transformative that journalists are unable to recall what it felt like before the stretch of prosperity we’ve enjoyed for the past two years. ..."

The unemployment rate is still 3.6 percent – but that’s a 50-year low and the 15th straight month of unemployment at or below 4 percent.

In this low unemployment environment, adding 75,000 new jobs was certainly progress.

The number of weekly jobless claims has also remained stable while hovering near a 50-year low.

With employers competing for employees as the economy grows, in May workers had their 10th straight months of year-over-year wage growth of at least 3 percent providing further evidence of labor market health.  ..."

Thursday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that worker productivity, which is a major determinant of both economic growth and wage increases, grew at an impressive 3.4 percent in the first quarter of this year.

That’s more than double the post-Great Recession average, and even higher than the 2.7 percent average increase recorded between 2000 and 2007. ..."

Thanks to President Trump’s economic agenda, America is approaching full employment – meaning that virtually every working-age adult who wants a job either already has one or is in the process of transitioning to a new and better one. ..."

Andy Puzder: Trump's booming economy has Democrats on the run

By Andy Puzder | Fox News
May 4, 2019

The new economic numbers are out, and the verdict is clear: The U.S. economy is on fire. ..."

The "Trump boom" is benefitting Americans In every demographic group. ..."

From the moment he took office, President Trump has implemented a straightforward and effective economic agenda based on four core strategies: tax cuts, deregulation, fair trade and domestic energy production. ...'

"...the economy added 263,000 jobs in April, pushing the unemployment rate down to a 50-year low of 3.6 percent.

The unemployment rate for adult women, at just 3.1 percent, is even lower than the overall unemployment rate and the lowest rate for women since 1953, when far fewer women were in the workforce.

Hispanic unemployment is down to 4.2 percent, its lowest level since 1973.

The unemployment rates for high school graduates, disabled Americans, and veterans are all lower than they’ve been in over a decade.

And all that is in addition to the record-low unemployment rates for African-Americans and Asian-Americans over the past year.

Average hourly earnings rose 3.2 percent for the year, the ninth consecutive month with a 3 percent or better year over year increase.  ..."

At some point there are fewer and fewer people looking for a job. At this low unemployment rate, I would imagine the country is close to full capacity employment. Little wonder the hiring is down!

Weak job numbers? What?

How is a million more jobs than employees to fill them “weak”?

Uhhhhh, okay. If President Trump’s job numbers suck so bad, why are so many people breaking and entering into our country? How do they expect to provide for themselves when they get here?

The numbers balance out. The previous month was way over estimates.

They are such weasels. Last week they were harping on the downward blip in the markets. Trump had wrecked everything with his tariffs. Then the markets bounced back so they dropped that angle and switched to the jobs report. Just watch — the jobs number will correct and they’ll jump to some other piece of bad news.

Trump administration moves to tighten food stamp rules

By Adam Shaw | Fox News
Dec 20, 2018

The Trump administration announced a plan Thursday to tighten work requirements for work-eligible Americans on food stamps — a move the Department of Agriculture says will nudge those on welfare toward self-sufficiency.

The USDA announced that the rule, which will apply to able-bodied adults without dependents, will restrict the ability of states to exempt recipients from having to hold a job to receive the benefits.

Currently, able-bodied recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) must work 20 hours a week or enroll in job training to maintain benefits, after their first three months in the program.

But states can waive the requirement if their unemployment rates are above 10 percent or they show a demonstrable lack of jobs.

States can also grant extensions of benefits for 15 percent of work-eligible adults without a waiver, and if they don’t use that waiver, they can bank the exemptions for later.

The new rule only allows waivers for specific cities or counties that have an unemployment rate of 7 percent or higher, and that waiver will be only eligible for one year.

States can no longer bank exemptions and cannot grant waivers for geographic areas larger than a specific jurisdiction.

“Long-term reliance on government assistance has never been part of the American dream,” Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said in a statement.

“As we make benefits available to those who truly need them, we must also encourage participants to take proactive steps toward self-sufficiency.

Moving people to work is common-sense policy, particularly at a time when the unemployment rate is at a generational low.” ...”

Only when a Republican is president is adding jobs to an economy that is statistically at full employment, a bad thing.

Weak job numbers? We are in what is basically called full employment. Other then a new business starting up and trying to draw people away from a job they already have who is their to hire? How are you going to have significant new numbers every month?

They thought Texas was in play for both Hillary and the Beto-bots. It seems as if you can negate everything say, and then have the truth. Weird.

CNN panel knocks Trump's Mexico deal, suggest it's a distraction from weak US job numbers

This headline, along with the "on-air" comments by their DUMBA$$ panels, is WHY CNN they're so far DOWN in the RATINGS.

They're so deep in the hole ratings-wise that they're piping the sunlight to them.
