While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is urging caution and patience in response to those in her party clamoring for impeachment proceedings against President Trump, her top deputies are signaling it’s only a matter of time before they begin.
South Carolina Rep. Jim Clyburn, the third-highest-ranking Democrat in the House, said in an interview Sunday that he believes impeachment proceedings ultimately will be launched against Trump at some point in the future. He suggested Democrats are already laying the groundwork in Congress.
“I think we’ve already begun,” Clyburn said on CNN's "State of the Union." “We’ve got all of these committees doing their work, we’re having hearings.”

and the “rules of civil procedure” might be so undeveloped (ie, there haven’t been a lot of trials in the senate) that the discretion of the trial judge is massive. And there ain’t no appeal.
(And on the face of it, it sort of makes sense to limit testimony to the issue at hand....we can’t have an OJ trial in the Senate...so your point is well taken...and yes, Roberts is totally owned).
I only wish Clyburn could know what I say about him in my mind.

They won’t actually impeach...but forming the committee to impeach gives them access to any materials they want.

I’ve been saying this for months. Impeachment is the best thing for Trump. It’s the only way he can actually get the truth out without looking like he’s trying to get even with his enemies. By doing it on the defensive, it allows him to get the truth out in such a way the MSM can’t filter too.
Democrat tactics:
1.) Claim Trump committed a crime. 2.) Tell others in the media he is guilty and then try to compile evidence to this end.
3.) No collusion and Trump is not found guilty nor exonerated by Mueller - the equivalencey of Dems saying Trump is not found guilty but Dems refuse then to say he is innocent.
4.) Continue the witchhunt with more accusations.

Mueller did something no one before him ever did: he said that someone was not exonerated which is the same as him saying he won’t say Trump is not found guilty but neither will he say he is innocent when it is one or the other - and he had no business saying ‘not exonerated’ anyway.
Dems will not let lack of proving Trump is guilty stop them from beginning impeachment...
