Impeachment dam breaking as Pelosi deputies tip hand: ‘We’ve already begun’

While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is urging caution and patience in response to those in her party clamoring for impeachment proceedings against President Trump, her top deputies are signaling it’s only a matter of time before they begin.

South Carolina Rep. Jim Clyburn, the third-highest-ranking Democrat in the House, said in an interview Sunday that he believes impeachment proceedings ultimately will be launched against Trump at some point in the future. He suggested Democrats are already laying the groundwork in Congress.

“I think we’ve already begun,” Clyburn said on CNN's "State of the Union." “We’ve got all of these committees doing their work, we’re having hearings.”

“There are no printable words to describe these Democrats. “

True. Many of them literally hate at least half the nation - meaning us. They are tearing the country apart. What do they think is going to happen? Do they actually think that all who voted for Trump are going to just go back to ‘business as usual’? Do they think that those who distrust them and the media are going to all of a sudden trust again - because Trump is gone?

There is a photo from the Vietnam war where a spy from the north was executed on a street corner.

I envision this being the future for all of the democrats if they continue to push impeachment..

I see Hillary's hand behind this groundless, whatever-the-Dems-say-it-is impeachment.   H> was also working maliciously through the Mueller team's report, Weissmann and BM's openly duplicitous, lawless actions after the report was handed over to the DOJ.

If the Dems pull the trigger on impeachment, I hope the Trump immediately petitions CJ Roberts for summary judgment in his favor for lack of evidence of treason, bribery, high crimes or misdemeanors.

The reason impeachment and coup activity continues is to save H>'s neck from the noose. The only hope she has is to stymie the unfolding of Trump's exposure of the Deep State's crimes. Otherwise: done deal. Toast.

She and the rest of the Rockefeller branch of the Deep State will leave no stone unturned in her attempt to remain in her own, personally crafted tier of the justice system.

Democrats have learned that there is no cost to talking-up impeachment

True enough.

How many articles were posted on FR alone, that "guaranteed" BO was "only days" away from being removed from office? Because Birth Certificate, or Citizenship, or whatever?

Fun to watch Dems make the same mistakes that we did.

So, during the impeachment trial, we will be hearing testimony from James Comey, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Bruce Ohr, Glenn Simpson, Donna Brazille, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, Christopher Steele, Hillary Clinton, John Brennan, James Clapper, and a whole host of other participants in this whole sordid affair and the ensuing coverup activities.

Can anyone confirm this? Is it possible? Is it likely?

And don’t forget that McConnell promised a speedy trial in the Senate.

Does talk help them though? I think it maybe makes their base even more wobbly.

Trump hasn't committed any crimes but most lawyers are Democrats and I'm sure they will come up with something.

Trump's refusal to be interviewed by Mueller could be construed as obstruction of justice.

They will be imaginative. His misrepresented remarks about Charlottesville will become an attack on the rule of law or racism or something. Likewise his criticism of the Mexican-American judge in 2016 will be a violation of the 14th amendment or something.

The amount of constitutional ignorance out there is astounding. Most people probably do think that impeachment means removal. Even supposedly educated people talk about the 25th amendment as if invoking it would mean that Trump would be removed from office. (It does not provide for a President to be removed from office, only for the Vice President to step in as Acting President.)

The difference between 1998 and now is that in 1998 the media was on Clinton's side and portrayed the Republicans as a bunch of stupid prudes. It's more like 1973-74 when the media was eager to bring down Nixon. The difference is that there was actual evidence of a crime in the Watergate case.

Exactly, nothing new at all.

They really don’t know what to do or even what they are doing.

On the one hand if they impeach now the Senate slaps it down, Trump announces another win over the leaders of the witch hunt
And except for libs driven more insane it all gets forgotten to soon to help them in 2020.

On the other hand if they wait until next year, say about Sept or so and impeach then Barr has all that time to investigate the FBI, CIA and JD and the FISA corruption. The Senate will still slap down the impeachment but now Trump’s announcing of total vindication is announced very close to the election which will both anger and depress the looney libs and further motivate Trump’s base.

“It’s the same mushy words they always used.

Clickbait headline.”

And, nothing is going to change. Talk, talk, blah, blah, impeach, impeach. They needed to modify their talking points to give maximum embarrassment to Trump during the UK visit.

Trump will have the upper hand in an impeachment, but I don't see that a television spectacle, mediated by the Leftist media talking heads would be at all in his favor or healthy for the country.

Going after the Deep State's coup-sters will properly be an orderly, legal process. Done on television, it could way too easily result in violence in the streets and worse.

Rush said that some Demonrat Impeachment advocates want capital punishment for President Trump. I assume beheading would be preferred.

I wouldn’t put any eggs in that basket. Just remember Chief Justice Roberts will be the Justice presiding over the trial and they obviously have some dirt on him. I can see where he would keep the evidence introduced to a very narrow scope.

The “high crime and misdemeanor” would probably be based on the obstruction “charge” and he would limit the evidence to the list of the ten examples in the Mueller report. The Dems would be stupid to try and include any collusion claim. That could open the door to a broader scope.

Worth repeating. And your argument applies equally well to calls for Mueller to testify. We don’t write the headlines. The MSM does.

So, Which side will win a brutal, short and deadly Civil war?

The left would. Although we might think those on the right may have more arms and ammunition, the left will have no reluctance to kill anyone and everyone that resists. A good portion of LEOs and the military would be more than willing to help them as the majority of the leadership in both arenas are leftist. The lower levels will follow orders just like they always have.

Talk talk talk talk talk talk talk

“I can get all the talk I want over at The monarch Boarding House.”

Make the case, Democrats.

Tell the American citizens just what it is that President Trump has done that makes you want to overturn the results of an election.

Otherwise, you’re just a bunch of chickens clucking.
