King Salman of Saudi Arabia has pulled off in Mecca what many had thought unlikely -- getting 20 or so disparate Arab nations to unite in a common position against Iran.
...
In middle-of-night, back-to-back summits at Islam's holiest of sites, the aging but still-attentive Saudi monarch got a double endorsement of his claims that Iran is destabilizing the Middle East and a backing of his call for "the international community to shoulder its responsibility.
The six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council and 21 Arab League nations present called for Iran to stop "interfering in the internal affairs" of its neighbors and denounced Tehran's "threat to maritime security" in the Persian Gulf.

Oh BS.
Shia va Sunni.
They have been fighting each other for a thousand years.
> That means conflict could be one step closer <
Would this be another one of those conflicts where the United States takes the lead? I sure hope not. If the Saudis have assembled such a great coalition, let them handle all of it.
Well, since 903AD anyway
Left and NeoCon’s want Trump to attack Iran.
What really scares me is if the whole Middle East all pulled together.
Imagine an army financed by the Saudis, using Egyptian manpower, and led by the Israelis.
Amen, sell weapons to the sides who hate Iran. Great summary!

This sounds like a plant story to me...the Saudis have tried to hire mercs from many places in the world..but that failed.
When President Trump met with Mideastern leaders when first taking the reigns of office, I thought he might be forming a NATO-like alliance to keep the peace in that part of the world. Seeing this story today makes it seem some sort of agreement did occur. Is there any credence that he is working toward such an alliance??
Fine with me. So long as we stay out of it.
The line should be something like Iran pay 100 to win 40
The left are desperate to protect Iran....that is why Kerry and Feinstein went there multiple times.
Saudi Arabia can handle Iran as our proxy. We will supply them weapons (good for our economy) and they can destroy Iran as it deserved in 1979.
Zetas vs Sinaloa, Bloods vs Crips,
Except that unlike in 1990 their patron in Washington
is not for sale.

The Saudis are the laziest people on earth. They could never wipe out Iran. They are stalled in Yemen for gods sakes.
They are as evil as Iran, and probably worse in most measurable ways. We pretend they are an ally because of the deal over the petrodollar. Most Americans correctly despise them and their culture.
I hope you’re right!
However I have little faith in Saudi military competence. I would love to proven wrong in my assessment.
They have a large not particularly happy Shia minority, which might not be willing to go to war against their religious brethren. Let’s hope the people of Iran find a way out of this on their own. (Maybe with some clandestine help at the right place & time!)
The PISS BOY is *us*.
Others order our farm boys into battle, in brown deserts on the other side of Earth.
Almost all the islamic terror in America and Europe has been Sunni, with roots in Saudi money.
I fear the presence of another Caliphate. If it forms it will suddenly convert all the “moderate muslims” 1.7 Billion of them into bloodthirsty madmen. Instant Jihadi army larger than all the millitary in the world combined with a mandate from their “god” to torture and kill all the rest of the worlds population with special emphasis on the Jews.
CNN is so far behind the time they are ridiculous.
Donald Trump received a red carpet treatment in Riyadh that rivaled or perhaps exceeded the pomp today at Buckingham Palace. During that visit, he spoke to the assembled Arab world and Islamic Africa. He made the announcement of close cooperation and alliance with the GCC in the engagement against Iran.
He did not get that fantastic reception out of the blue. It was the visable manifestation and announcement of a solid alliance already in place. Those fence sitters not committed were given notice that the world henceforth was a different place.
CNN is misreporting history
