The Virginia Beach shooter who killed 12 people and wounded several others in a municipal complex on Friday had submitted his resignation earlier that morning, officials said Sunday.
The gunman, identified as 40-year-old DeWayne Craddock, was an engineer with the city's public utilities department for 15 years. In a news conference Sunday morning, Virginia Beach City Manager Dave Hansen described the man’s work performance as “satisfactory” with no ongoing issues of discipline.

True. If the killer doesn’t fit the profile that the MSM desires (straight white male), then it all disappears immediately. Heck, if this guy had been white, his photo would have been all over international news, along with every detail about his life and his on-line activity. Very bizarre.

The police chief said that he could bypass security because he was an employee. Now we find our that he resigned. So why did he still have employee access to the building. It should have been revoked the moment he resigned. It is had then this guy would not have been able to enter with a guy.

I’m fairly certain that he did not won the “1927 Ford Corolla” listed in the link by SunkenCiv, and he definitely was not Asian-American.
My $0.02 worth is that this was a “resignation in lieu of termination” (to allow the city to avoid a potential lawsuit, the perp to save face, and perhaps find another job), that went horribly wrong.
Was he overlooked for a promotion?
His last rating showed he had satisfactory work performance.

He did not just go off and decide to kill coworkers for no reason. Someone in that group of people had been saying things to him, or about him, or, had been doing something to him that enraged him. To go and shoot them was NOT the solution at all, but some deficiency in his character caused him to lose control and kill.
Now, to the main argument of this statement. Every time this happens, the authorities and some in the media KNOW why it actually happened, but they do NOT report it. I would like to know why? Please answer the question, officials.
I think the odds are good that he had a legitimate engineering degree. I saw him listed as an EIT in one news report, which stands for “Engineer-in-Training.” That would mean he passed a formal exam given by his state’s licensing board. Typically he would have either taken the exam in his third year of engineering school, or he would have needed a degree to take it later.
Mr. Craddock was in fact a registered professional engineer in the state of Virginia. It’s on theVirginia Department of Professional Regulation website.
I used to think exactly that, until I heard a Chicago native call it “De Splanes”.
