He should have tapped the hatchet guy. If you are going to get fired, make it worthwhile!

It’s a shame there’s no Plaid Pantry around here for me to boycott...

How does that idiot think you should de-escalate a situation where the robber has a hatchet and you’re not allowed to have a gun?

PS: If it were me I’d have given him everything he wanted and helped him put it in his car - what with having a policy like that.

chain has a zero-tolerance policy for weapons.

I guess the bad guy wasn't aware of the policy.

Hatchet wielding thief would like to thank the owner of the convenience store and the news reporter for letting him know the store is now disarmed. See you soon!

Hmmm. Since they have a “zeeeeero tolerance” policy, will the hatchet wielder be fired as well? And glad they’ve admitted they are intolerant.

“He said employees are trained to de-escalate robbery situations to avoid injury:

Whack!

“Ow, that hurt, Mr. Nice Robber. You cut off my arm, please don’t cut me again!”

Whack!

“Ow, that hurt, Mr. Nice robber, you cut off my other arm, please don’t cut me again!”

Whack!

[somehow, i don’t think unarmed “de-escalation” against an armed robber is very effective ... probably why police are armed]

If I’m the parent of a murdered while employed child at 7-11 I will try to own the chain. Trying to reason with a criminal who may be drug crazed is not a good idea. Hats off to those employees who say “My life is worth more than my low wage job.”

He is alive, thank God and his wise decision to carry in an environment where you will be killed for whatever is in the cash register. This chain of stores needs to be avoided. The president of the company is an rectum hole.

The clerk should have been given a bonus and a raise.
