Especially because he seems to be enjoying the whole thing, like he knows something. I sure hope that’s the way it is. It would be nice to see the swamp starting to get drained. It will be a flood for those downstream. Maybe there’s something to that whole tens of thousands of sealed indictments after all. Hell, I’d be happy if Comey, Brennan and a handful of others spent life in prison because this can’t happen again. I don’t think there’s any more DJTs out there.
Also it's been recently rumored that Trump was going to fire him but Pence asked Coats to stay through the summer.

AG has some authority to declassify and can ask the DNI to do so. The main reason is that the AG can bring charges for lying, leaking, and the crimes Trump refers to as treason. He uses the treason word to give the AG more power in getting confessions.
The media asked him who he thought was treasonous. At first he said he didn't know. Then he said Comey, McCabe and "people higher up". Then added Strzok and his lover.
From everything I’ve read about this case, and I’ve read a lot, I suspect that Brennan was the prime-mover of this coup.
Clapper is too dense to have authored this project in any meaningful way. As for Comey: he seems to be the “fall-guy or patsy” that Brennan was moving around.
Maybe there's some intel on Coates that shows he's implicated in the coup attempt?
Why did POTUS circumvent DNI Coats (normal protocol for DECLAS) and give AUTH directly to AG Barr?
Because the IC has already cleared for DECLAS?
Because Barr is aware of all the investigations currently ongoing?
Because Barr handles indictments?

Wray was supposed to be assisting Barr but it appears that he was doing just the opposite. Hence Barr’s remark expressing frustration about getting conflicting stories.
Barr now has an executive order to pressure Wray and I doubt he will tolerate any more foot dragging and excuses from him.
