A vigil for the victims of the recent shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch that was organized by Team ENOUGH, a student-led initiative that is part of pro-gun control group Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, did not go as planned as students walked out to protest the group's politicization of the tragedy.
During the vigil, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America activists, Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., and Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., each made remarks the students in attendance did not appreciate because, according to them, the adults were politicizing the event.
The students walked out of the event and held their own vigil outside the school.
Students had also chanted "mental health" in response to the speakers pushing for more gun control.
9NEWS anchor Kyle Clark reports some students returned to the gym and to continue their vigil, saying they did not want to be used to push for more gun control.
The Brady Campaign issued an apology to the students for the politicization of the vigil.
"We are deeply sorry any part of this vigil did not provide the support, caring and sense of community we sought to foster and facilitate and which we know is crucial to communities who suffer the trauma of gun violence," the group said.
Moms Demand Action did not provide a comment in time for publication.
LOL! Similar story. Beat you by 48 seconds but from a different source. :-)
Despite having all day to respond?
Moms’ Cover Blown! ;)
Feel free to pull one thread or the other. :)
Stupid arse Dims try to HOGG up their Vigil!
LOL! Oh, thanks for asking. :-) But it’s fine with me as well. Actually since yours goes to the examiner and is more in depth it’s probably the better choice to remain.
WOOOOHOOOO! Reinforcements for the republic. HOORAY Colorado youth.
ISWYDT....................
“We are deeply sorry any part of this vigil did not provide the support, caring and sense of community we sought to foster and facilitate and which we know is crucial to communities who suffer the trauma of gun violence,”
WOW. Just how patronising is that statement? “Oh, you stupid, willful kids, you don’t know what you’re talking about. WE know what’s best for you, after all.”
I think a more accurate translation of that statement is: “We are deeply sorry that a certain segment of the student populace is not yet in agreement with our viewpoints. As the adults, who have their best interests at heart, and who, after all, know best, we can assure you that such a situation will not be repeated. Said troublesome students shall be starting their re-education programs on Monday.”
Too bad not one of them had the forethought to think maybe this wasnt a good idea in the first place.
L
Democrats and muslims never pass up a chance to parade the corpses for financial and political profit. It is a long held tradition for them.
Wow!! Rush will be on this one today.
They probably didn’t realize that it was a propaganda event because it was most likely presented to them simply as a memorial vigil, and no doubt had school sponsorship, too.
LOL !!! Cant wait for Rush on this one too !
So, now they get to be used to push anti gun-control
Jason Crow said thoughts and prayers are weak and we need common sense gun control the afternoon of the shooting. He is a ex combat veteran and ranger. I use ex instead of former because he is reneging on the oath he took to defend the Constitution. I took that oath in 1974 and never signed anything that let me “out of it.”
I agree. What great young adults.
Now, every time "Ex-Marine", "Ex-SEAL", etc comes up on TV or in the movies - which is often - he points it out.
Smart Kid. He'd have been one of the ones walking out, had he been at the vigil/Democrat Political Rally.
The mental health professionals have been failing society for a number of years now and that failure is now being manifested in what we are experiencing. They seem to have made their mission to be giving credence to the progressive liberal changes in society.
We need to find a way to get the psychopaths off the streets.
