A Massachusetts judge has left court in tears after being indicted on obstruction of justice charges for allegedly helping an illegal immigrant evade immigration officials.
Judge Shelley M Richmond Joseph and trial court officer Wesley MacGregor are accused of conspiring to prevent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from taking an undocumented immigrant into custody at Newton District Court on April 2, 2018.
Joseph had allegedly ordered the courtroom recording device to be turned off for 52 seconds while she and the defendant Jose Medina-Perez's lawyer had a conversation about getting him out of the courthouse instead of handing him over to an ICE officer, according to the indictment. MacGregor allegedly used his access badge to release Medina-Perez through a rear door.
Joseph was seen crying when she left federal court in Boston Thursday.
According to CBS, Joseph's attorney Tom Hoopes said outside court: 'This prosecution is absolutely political, Shelley Joseph is absolutely innocent.'

That was a very good vanity, I must have missed it! I liked the graphic with the summary points, I think it was #5: “Fight Back: When I’m treated badly or unfairly, I fight back hard.”
That is what many of us love about him.
A few more arrests like this and these social justice warriors may decide being the flavor of the month at Leftie Elites cocktail soirees may not be as much fun as they thought.
“Waah waaah! But I’m a Democrat judge! I do what I want!”
I don’t like to use cliches but......OMG! she is truly ugly.
She’s really going to cry when she ends up in prison.
Your right RLM. Our new moonbat Gov here in MI has undone all the free market reforms for our Sec of State's office aka your MASS DMV have been undone and I drove by one the other day with the line so long out the door you'd of thought it was a PDJT rallye. She is fuster clucking MI, yes you are not alone, I left MA, soon I'll need to leave MI...
Sigh. It’s discouraging.
People like you and I have to pay the wages of sin for the damned leftists in our localities.
Women like this are why, for years, men felt that women did not have the moral maturity to take part in the legal system. All that feminine compassion was meant to be directed toward their family, and perhaps homeless animals. Not criminals.
Very good comment, worth repeating. Agree, except — men dont feel it: they know it in their gut. The Bible warms of it. Some societies (not Europe) understand it and prevent it, but theyre dwindling.
This cultural Marxist social experiment in America is producing bitter fruits.
Found this a little late
Place-mark BUMP!
A follow-up...
The judge is demanding her suspended salary be restored.
She rejected a plea deal for the govt, but her court officer who was also charged is ‘mulling over’ whether to take a plea. I would imagine if he took a plea it would be game over for the judge.
Additionally,
“Joseph has had $127,000 in legal fees paid by taxpayers.”
“As it turns out, the US Attorney handling the case offered Joseph a very generous plea deal in which she could avoid criminal prosecution. Who wouldnt take that, right? She would only be required to admit her behavior was improper and stay out of trouble for a year. She turned it down. Could it be that Judge Joseph wants to be a martyr? She faces up to 20 years in prison but will not likely get the entire 20 years.”

Thanks!
In cases like this, the first one to take a plea deal gets a lighter sentence.
The court officer should definitely take a plea deal.
She probably went along with the crime to keep her job then it all blew up on them.
I hope she remains an idiot and does some time
We need examples made of these anti-RuleOfLaw actors.
