During her one hour town hall on CNN, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) was asked about what she would do to end school shootings.
"I'm sure that there are many students here who, while you were high school, even middle school, that you had to participate in a drill, right? Where you were convened and talked to you about how you needed to run into a closet because there may be a mass shooter roaming the hallways of your school. And in our America, that should never have to happen," Harris explained.

"Reasonable" eh? What is "reasonable" to you is completely unacceptable to me. I'm sure what I would consider "reasonable" safety laws would be unacceptable to you. Reasonable is just a euphemism for "what we can get away with now" knowing full well they will be ineffective at curbing criminal behavior - thus setting the stage for additional, more onerous, more un-Constitutional, more restrictive gun laws. It is incrementalism pure and simple.

BS. So-called "universal" background checks are a lie. They are named to make people feel good about them. But the idea is ludicrous. Criminals don't get background checks. If they could pass a background check then they would obtain their firearms like anyone else. But they can't. Expecting "universal" background checks to do anything towards curbing criminal behavior is insane. You might as well pass a law saying all drug transactions must take place at a pharmacy after getting a prescription from a physician - then expecting that to stop or even influence the illegal drug trade in any way. Criminals are going to break laws, not just suddenly start obeying your pet project.

Oh, the 10 year long, completely in-effective ban we tried? Why the {expletive} would someone advocate to re-try something that was proven - by actual test - not to work? Hey, let's bring back the Edsel. Sure, we know it's not going to work, but we must do something! so let's try that again. You know why leftists advocate for "gun control" or "gun safety" or "reasonable..." laws that they know will not work? It is because they don't care if they work. In fact they don't want them to work, they need them not to work. Their ultimate goal is complete civilian disarmament. They know they cannot get there all at once, it would quite literally spark an armed uprising, call it civil war II, an insurgency, violent civil disobedience, whatever.
The strategy is incrementalism. Chip away a little at a time. In order to do that, the steps along the way have to make it increasingly difficult to privately own firearms. They have to narrow the types and capabilities of the "legal" firearms. Chip, chip, chipping away, little by little - it's only "reasonable" after all... All the while, they absolutely need the laws to not actually do anything to curb violence. They need that violence to justify the next round of laws. So the proposed "gun control" laws all share two common traits: One, they only impact the law abiding - making it more difficult, time consuming, expensive, to own firearms and/or restrict features & capabilities; two, they will not reduce crime in any meaningful way, thus paving the way for additional restrictions.
This woman is a socialist/fascist nightmare.
Harris will be within the first 3 to drop out of the presidential race.

So... she wants to create an executive order that already mimics federal law? Dealers are required to do background checks. Is she hung up on the number of 5? I dont get it.
Look the RNC can start running commercials now. Put all of this in a big commercial in plain talk explaining how extreeme they all are.
