Deep-pocketed Republicans who snubbed Donald Trump in 2016 are going all in for him in 2020, throwing their weight behind a newly created fundraising drive thats expected to dump tens of millions into his reelection coffers.
The effort involves scores of high-powered businessmen, lobbyists and former ambassadors who raised big money for George W. Bush, John McCain and Mitt Romney and who are now preparing to tap their expansive networks for Trump after rebuffing his first presidential bid.
The project, which is closely modeled after the famed Pioneers network that helped to fuel Bushs 2000 campaign, is slated to be formally unveiled on May 7, when well-connected Republican fundraisers from around the country descend on Washington for a closed-door event with Trump 2020 aides. Under the plan, which was described by more than a half-dozen party officials, high-performing bundlers who collect at least $25,000 for Trump Victory, a joint Trump 2020-Republican National Committee fundraising vehicle, will earn rewards like invitations to campaign-sponsored retreats, briefings and dinners.

Easy. They want more wars in the Middle East and Trump to cave on immigration. They will probably tell him to just give all the illegals an H1B Visa and say the crisis is over.
War, demographic displacement, and cheap labor is what the elites want.
Thats my opinion, too.
What used to be Hmm, D or R...? for profit-seeking business leaders is now, with the new socialist rat congresscritters, OMG not D!
“I wonder what theyll want in return.”
I thought the same too. Wouldn’t the sub-question be “will Trump give them what they want for $$”?
Indeed it does!
“I wonder what theyll want in return.”
To exist.
I think one of the reasons he is hated inside the Beltway is he doesn’t cow-tow to the Donor class.
But the Donor class is smart enough to realize that the wacko left has them in their sites. (Of course evil White Nationalist are their number one target.) I don’t think they have a choice.
That’s what I liked and recall was a big deal Trump’s first campaign is he financed his own campaign without those lobby donors so he wasn’t bought and paid for by the elite. Let’s hope it is the same this time around and he rakes in enough from grassroots supporters of his base.
If I were Trump, I’d take the money and explain he didn’t need it last time and doesn’t need it this time but he’ll find a way to “put it to good use”.
Then transfer the money into building detention centers along the southern border as a privately-funded “gift to America”.
Good that they woke up.
Keep it up.
Double-edged sword, at best.
Immigration policy is what I fear most from this gang.
The big donors are not our friends.
I disagree. Trump won a lot of people over by being a much better President than they expected. I was one of those people. I was for another candidate and now I am a passionate Trump supporter.
Trump should promise these Johnny come lately millionaires anything they want. After the election he should tell them to F off, I work for the hundred dollar donors who have been with me from the beginning .
I work for the hundred dollar donors who have been with me from the beginning .

Bingo
When has it ever looked like President Trump could be bought?
I’ll believe that when I see it. We have nothing but talk time for action. Perp walk all of them starting with Clinton’s!
