f the Big Apple is to become the Green Apple, it will have to ban the steel and glass towers that form its signature skyline, according to Mayor Bill de Blasio.
De Blasio, speaking on MSNBCs Morning Joe said that citys most iconic structures the tall skyscrapers seen from miles away are the biggest source of emissions in New York City. The drastic change, and a switch to only renewable energy within five years, are necessary for Gotham to embrace the Green New Deal, de Blasio said.

Well, the age of skyscrapers on a massive scale is over. Lesser structures out of the city proper are now the market.

Yep! Mud huts will be far more environment-friendly...
To mitigate the problem of the current millions of glass & steel buildings, the government will begin a massive program to train (and then hire as a diversity requirement) Saudi, Iranian, Somali, Yemeni, Minnesota, and Pakistani airline pilots...

No doubt. Proggie ideas are mostly too stupid to even formulate a response to.

all about regression to a ‘simpler, green, economy’ and none of them would last 30 minutes off of concrete.

Yeah, those wood and stone versions will be just grand.

Judging cites by the air, I think that would have a significant impact on the area of cities. They would use up the woodlands.

To Greenies: sell your Green New Deal to China. They’re the biggest polluters on Earth, and they’ve produced and used more concrete than the rest of the world combined over the last five years - and concrete production is a major polluter. China is the culprit, not the USA. China is gung-ho on building skyscrapers and cities, more than any other country.

YES!! Make skyscrapers out of adobe and straw. Much better and "more efficient" that way.

The only thing that the Green New deal will accomplish in New York City is a name change from The Big Apple to The Rotten Apple.
