Why did Mueller wait to answer collusion question, Bush AG Michael Mukasey asks
Fox News ^ | 20 April 2019 | Liam Quinn

We know what Special Counsel Robert Mueller knew when it comes to the question of Trump-Russia collusion, but the great unknown is when he knew it -- and why he kept his knowledge secret.

That’s according to Michael B. Mukasey, a former federal judge, and President George W. Bush’s attorney general.

Speaking to Fox News host Bill Hemmer on the latest episode of the “Hemmer Time” podcast, Mukasey asked why Mueller did not reveal the most important piece of information he uncovered until submitting his report to Attorney General William Barr.

“When did Bob Mueller know, or when did the people who worked with him know, that there was no coordination, which is what they were looking for?” the ex-AG said to Hemmer.

“When did they realize that and whenever they realized that shouldn't they have told the rest of us?”

After two years of suspense, Mueller’s report was released Thursday showing investigators did not find evidence of collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia – as Attorney General Bill Barr declared last month – but revealing an array of controversial actions by the president that were examined as part of the investigation’s obstruction inquiry.

Hemmer asked Mukasey if he felt Mueller coming forward with that information would’ve been beneficial, and if he should have pre-empted the official announcement to do so.

“I don’t know about preempted the announcement but certainly should have told us about it beforehand. It would have taken the speculation the edge and the speculation off,” he said, Mukasey said, before critiquing the media’s coverage of the investigation.

Probably the day he walked in the door.

The purpose of this investigation was to create crimes, not uncover them. Otherwise, you don’t put together the team Mueller hired, and the probe would have ended very soon and the other ancillary and unrelated things found turned back over to the Justice Department to continue investigating if warranted.

He likely knew before or at his appointment there was no collusion. His dragging it out was his part of the plan to hurt DJT longer.

Weasel Mueller was perpetrating a fraud on the DoJ.

He gained a Yuuuge financial windfall by continuing the Witch Hunt.

He needs to be prosecuted. Starting with a SWAT raid on his house.

Mukasey is one hard ass sob. Exactly the kind of man we need, and whose name immediately popped into my mind as the proper selection for the special prosecutor position that Mueller filled.

Mueller hit a gold mine with McGhan and he needed time to develop it.

Why, has a simple answer. MUELLER is a biased “NEVER TRUMPER”.

The same question can be asked of Rosenstein, who obviously also knew for the past year that there was no collusion by Trump.

For Rosenstein, the answer is simple. Rosenstein has dirty hands from his days at FBI during the Trump campaign - he’s one of the bad guys. He knows he’s at risk of going to jail for what he did, or at least what he permitted. The ‘investigation’ allowed Mueller to tie up the evidence that would have been used to go after him [Rosenstein], such as the phony FISA warrants...hence he was safe as long as Mueller was ‘investigating’. The [now-obvious] intent was to drag out the ‘investigation’ right through 2020, when [hopefully for them] a new president would sweep it all away. That was the ‘insurance policy’, investigate Trump as a Russian spy in order to prevent themselves from being investigated. Pretty ingenious, actually. Needless to say, Barr put a quick end to that.

As to Mueller, that one is harder, since I don’t think he has dirty hands from 2016. My speculation may be his love for the FBI may have been what kept him part of this coverup. He knew that the entire FBI would [rightfully] look like dogshit if what they did to Trump [and God knows who else] came out. So, in a demented way, he may have been trying to ‘protect’ the FBI.

My above speculation comes from a characteristic that I’ve seen a number of times with elected Republicans - they fear the truth getting out much more than they fear the corruption that is actually going on. For example with voting, they know there are huge levels of fraud, and nothing is being done, and that virtually all of it benefits Democrats, but they won’t make it a national issue. Why not, especially when Republicans are losing elections over it? Answer - they have higher priorities, in the case of voting, they’re scared to death of Americans ‘losing confidence’ in our voting system, so they protect it at all costs, even with the huge level of fraud going on. It is a totally sick mindset that infects them, but that is what elites think, and what we’re dealing with, at least with regard to voting, and maybe Mueller. And you’ll note how many of the Republicans were LIVID that Trump would ever accuse the FBI, our premiere law enforcement agency, of political spying. Those Republicans, ALL OF THEM, literally had no clue either way, but they immediately came down on the side of the FBI and were trying to protect it against unfounded accusations of such massive lawbreaking...something that Barr now confirmed, just last week.

Well that's true. But Republicans are happy going along with the charade even as a minority party as long as they get to "help" their corporate sponsors (e.g. who need illegal workers) and some voters (e.g. farmers). Of course they'll never come close to the Dems at doling out taxpayer cash but they keep trying.

So he could send his SWAT team to arrest 70 yr old men in the middle of the night.

I’m sure that they knew there was no collusion right away. They also knew the only thing they could possibly get Trump on was obstruction.

So they went on and on. Two years worth, to try to manipulate things to goad Trump into some manner of obstruction.

I forget who it was, but one Fox News pundit kept saying over and over, right after Mueller was picked to be SC, that Trump’s only concern should be about obstruction. It was a trap.

elected Republicans - they fear the truth getting out much more than they fear the corruption that is actually going on....

Most of them are elitists. To them protecting established institutions, no matter how corrupt, is the first priority. They do well under the status quo and have no interest in changing it.

Some think the turtle is doing well by us for getting conservative judges in. This is just an instance where the aims of the chmbr of commerce, etc, coincide with ours. The chamber and their establishment allies would prefer business friendly conservatives on the bench rather than rabid leftists.

Same with tax reform which was tilted more towards corps than individuals. However, as far as “immigration” is concerned and 0bama care? The gope will kick those down the road.

As for muleshit, I think his actions reflected more his loyalty to the establishment, ergo hostility to Trump, than any love for the fbi.

Thanks for your posting. It was well thought out and a pleasure to read.

"The purpose of this investigation was to create crimes, not uncover them."

Now suppose one substituted the word "cover" for "create" in your statement, as quoted above. Then, suppose a further "investigation" might reveal the timing, method and reason for such "covering up" of the genesis, details and purpose of such a cover up. Hmmmm….

Mueller always knew this, from the beginning:

1. The Supreme Court has ruled that if there is no underlying crime, the investigated cannot be accused of obstruction for having pushed back in any way.

2. Therefore, the entire report regarding obstruction should not exist.

3. The obstruction findings amount to nothing more than innuendo and uncorroborated hearsay.......and it came from a prosecutor?

4. The only possible purpose of the obstruction loose talk is to fire up a political attack.......and it came from a prosecutor?

5. From the beginning it was known that the Dept. of Justice would not indict a sitting President. So the only point of the entire investigation had to be to entrap the President’s associates in perjury traps.

These seditious traitors disgust me. After a fair trial and conviction, Justice would be served by public hangings.
