Better than 70s country music, which appears to have consisted of different artists all moaning at great length about how they lost their spouse, their vehicle and their canine. On the few occasions they weren’t doing that, they were moaning about how they were getting blind drunk in bars then driving home. :P

The last Country Western performer I really followed was Alan Jackson. I did like some tunes from Brad Paisley, but when I found out what a stinking flaming leftist he was, I couldn’t listen anymore.

Kind of what happened to me with Pink Floyd when I found out what a douche Roger Waters is.

That said, I just attended a 30 min private concert at The Grand Ole Opry, and the group was “Runaway June”...now, this sounded more like pop than country to me, but...the sound was clean and proficient, and I enjoyed it. (It helped that the core of the group is three attractive young women, one of them the grandchild of John Wayne...:)

So, on my (only my third Lyft/Uber) ride home from the airport at midnight, I got a driver from Brazil who didn’t speak much English, and apparently didn’t know the area much either. (Not much different from a regular taxi, I guess) I had to use hand signals from the back seat to transit the thirty miles to my house!

Funny thing was, he was listening to a Country station, which I thought was kind of odd, and as we drove along, I was tapping my foot, and realized it was one of the soungs by the three gals I just saw in Nashville!

Country music does not even have a fiddle anymore.
These 2 guys from England perform some good country music from the past. Instrumentals.

How is this not “cultural appropriation”?

What this country needs is a Country Music TV channel that plays real country music.

ive often wondered why no country singer/band, ever covered led zeppelin’s ‘Hot Dog’....

that is more pure country sound than 90% of what is passed off as that genre today.

Billy Ray Cyrus is an absolute POS of a father who is proud of his leftist, skank daughter Miley. You can bet that the town of Louisa KY (where he is from) view him as going over to the dark side.

I thought it was ridiculous. And I like most of the stuff on Pandora, but I gave this the thumbs down.

Heck — NEIL YOUNG is more “country” than what passes for country music today.

Best title for a country song, ever ... “My Wife Ran Off With My Best Friend, And I Miss Him.” LOL.

This is what I listen to nowadays.

It’s all that I can find that’s remotely listenable to someone educated in music.

You know what happens when you play a country song backwards?

The singer gets his wife, truck and dog back. :P

George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Allen Jackson, and a few others did an admiral job of pulling CM back to its roots, but it was too little too late.

The industry leaders have been trying to murder country music since the 70's when they began pushing pop/country cross over songs that were far more pop than country.

Well, they have finally accomplished what Strait and Jackson warned us about in their award winning song, Murder on Music Row

Slightly better, but still not a song I want to hear very often, if at all. But the end is somewhat better. This had to be the version that made the country hit list though.

Here's the Keith Urban version:

George Jones - Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes
Jamey Johnson - Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes - He's one of them!

Kevin Fowler - Sellout Song

Zane Williams - Bringing Country Back
