Mark Meadows: More criminal referrals coming, 'overwhelming evidence' shows DOJ, FBI abuse

Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., teased more criminal referrals against Justice Department and FBI officials on Monday as a colleague of his plans to submit one of his own.

House Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes, R-Calif., announced on Sunday he is ready to send eight criminal referrals to Attorney General William Barr this week related to the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation.

In a tweet, Meadows, a member of the Oversight Committee, said it was the "right move" and hinted that there is more to come.

"The right move from @DevinNunes. More criminal referrals to come. And certainly more deserved. Overwhelming evidence shows multiple FBI + DOJ executives abused their power to undermine a duly elected President Trump. They will be held accountable," Meadows said.

I think it's likely that Nunes and Meadows will send criminal referrals.

I know that Bob Barr isn't recused.

What Barr does with these likely criminal referrals remains to be seen.

I assume you mean William Barr, not Bob Barr. Bob Barr I could trust, as for William Barr, the jury is still out and that is not a good sign.

The problem is that if indictments aren’t issued soon, it’s possible that they will never be.

It’s hard to imagine that Trump would get beat in 2020, but it could happen. If it does, all of this goes away. Even if an investigation is begun now, it’ll take the next two years to make any headway. A new Democrat administration could easily block, stall, or cancel it.

If Trump is serious about pursuing the Deep State traitors, he MUST act now. Otherwise, it’s all talk for the purpose of politics and electioneering.

I’m less confident than I used to be that he’s serious about this.

I’m confused.

How do the depts that would handle this investigate it?

Or is it some other dept?

Or are there new people investigating people that are no longer there?

More stupid party, “look-at-me” theater? Probably, since that’s about all we’ve seen to date!

Even if an investigation is begun now, it’ll take the next two years to make any headway.

Not if they got in gear. The low hanging fruit folks, when charged, will sing like canaries to get the best deal they can and will turn on the McCabe and Comey types. Then its hardball to see if they turn on Obama and Hillary.

This reminds me of one of those Russian slap contest videos. The Democrats got to go first and Trump took a big slap, now its our turn.

Or even easier if they have been ongoing for months but people weren’t paying attention....

JORDAN: I’m more concerned about why Mr. Rosenstein didn’t give us the information when he first got it. It seems to me
he should have

Let me go to something else here. How many different investigations do you have going on right now? Are you looking at — you’re looking
at Mr. Comey. You’re looking at FISA — official abuse of the FISA court process. And are you looking at the leak issue with — with the FBI? Are you — have (ph) you got three other ones going on?

HOROWITZ: We’ve got lots of investigations going on, but it’s...

JORDAN: Well I know, but relative to this stuff — I know you’ve got lots, but...

(CROSSTALK)

HOROWITZ: Yes, we’re looking at the leak issue, as well. That’s ongoing.

JORDAN: So all three of those...

HOROWITZ: Remain ongoing.

(CROSSTALK)

JORDAN: ... within ongoing investigations, right? Do you
— do you have any idea when — I’m particularly — well, I’m interested in all of them, but I’m particularly interested in the FISA — potential abuse of the FISA process. Do you have any idea when that one will be complete?

HOROWITZ: I don’t, Congressman. In part — as you know, a few weeks ago we were asked to broaden that and look at some additional information and issues.

JORDAN: Do you anticipate it taking 18 months, like this Clinton investigation one (ph) did, Mr. Horowitz?

HOROWITZ: I don’t anticipate it. But let me just say, if we had released this report in January, you would not have most of these text messages.
