A federal judge in Alaska has ruled an executive order by President Donald Trump allowing offshore oil drilling of tens of millions of acres in the Arctic Ocean is "unlawful and invalid."
The ruling on Friday from US District Court Judge Sharon Gleason means a drilling ban for much of the Arctic Ocean off of Alaska will go back into effect.
On April 28, 2017, Trump issued an executive order reversing three memoranda and one executive order in 2015 and 2016 by then President Barack Obama withdrawing about 125 million acres of the Arctic Ocean from oil leasing. The Obama order also prevented drilling in certain parts of the Atlantic Ocean.

Yes, indeed, Pres. Trump should just ignore this. He certainly has the right to overturn a previous executive order. So what the democrats will impeach, they are just itching to impeach anyway.
So, an order by a provably inept, corrupt, and totally idiotic Dorkbama the Muslim eunuch quota baby is “legal”, while an order by a successful businessman who didn’t need quotas to fake his way into a Baskin-Robins job is illegal?
We’re pretty much all the way there to the point of totally ignoring our judges.

Executive orders are not laws, Judge Gleason. All presidents have the authority to revoke or amend any executive order by a prior president.
This ruling should be ignored by the President. Secondly, it should be thrown out with prejudice by a higher court.

That is basic jurisprudence, but left-liberal judges have untethered themselves from such pesky restrictions.

Just ignore it. Will undoubtedly be reversed by a higher court.
Yeah, sure, “judge”, whatevs.

She ruled Congress is the only institution that can reverse a president’s decision with regard to this matter, saying Trump’s executive order “is unlawful, as it exceeded the President’s authority.”
This seems to be the relevant part of the story. Is it a legally valid argument? I’ve no idea.
A lot, if not most, of what Trump does will be challenged in court and, more often than not, he will receive an unfavorable ruling. Then, if they decide to appeal, it will be tied up in court even longer. The wheels of justice move slowly.
Should Trump ignore a lot of these rulings? It would be a huge risk if he did. Maybe in his second term, when he has less to lose...
Forget the Judges.
Trump needs to brazenly and aggressively defy these unlawful power grabs.
Trump needs to risk impeachment EVERY day to stop this.
For two years, Trump has allowed the Leftist judiciary to manipulate him like a helpless puppet on a string.
Fight back - or lose our Republic!
We absolutely must get rid of these judges who ignore the law and rule based on their political views.

Well, the US District Court for the District of Alaska is authorized 3 active District Judges. One of these “slots” is VACANT without a Trump nominee to fill it. There’s nothing stopping President Trump and the Republican Senate from appointing a young Constitutionalist to this District Judgeship.
As this case shows, DISTRICT JUDGES ARE IMPORTANT. There’s no excuse for the Republicans to be allowing over 100 District Judge positions (of a total of 667 Authorized District Judge positions) to be sitting VACANT.
