Schumer appears to care most about Schumer, his ‘career’, his ‘stature’, his privilege, his power, and the trappings of his Senate seat, than he does about standing up against hate. Across the ocean are children who live in a small country that has been threatened with destruction for many decades - by those who hate them and their parents because they were born Jewish. In other countries across the sea there are children whose innocence is being taken from them - as they are taught to hate those who were born Jewish.

Here, in NYC, a 68 year-old narcissist ignores these realities, and refuses to reign in the hateful comments of a member of his own party - because it isn't politically expedient for him to do so. It's the action of a man without principles or courage.
