Lindsey Graham calls on new champion in FISA abuse investigation

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., reignited the investigation into alleged Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse on Thursday, demanding from the Justice Department a wide array of documentation related to the surveillance of Carter Page and other members of the 2016 Trump campaign.

The latest salvo in a long-running fight for access to documents, the GOP-led, bicameral effort was weakened when the Democrats ensnared control of the House with no intention of continuing the hunt. But Republican leaders see new hope in new Attorney General William Barr.

In a letter addressed to Barr, who took over the DOJ last month, Graham made targeted document requests that he said will help his committee determine whether proper procedure was ignored when the FBI made its case for FISA warrants to wiretap Page and other Trump campaign officials.

Barr is going to protect all of the leftist swamp scum. Reforming an out of control, rouge deep state is just too hard for him.

I’d feint if he doesn’t.

Its about time we see the damn FISA docs. Trump promised to declassify and release them seven months ago but we never saw them. He backed off under pressure from Rosenstein, his own bureaucracy, and our meddling foreign "allies". Hopefully Graham will finally break the log jam and we'll get to see the long awaited FISA docs. That is if Trump allows it.

Maybe so. But Trump never followed through on his order to declassify and release them. He had a chance to start draining the swamp by releasing them but for whatever reasons he opted not to and the documents never saw the light of day. So let’s give Graham and Barr a chance.

I think the reasoning was that the Dems would hit him with “obstruction of justice” if he released the documents (at least thats what they were implying during the build up). I suppose Trump would have to wait till the Mueller report is released so it wouldn’t be “obstruction” (obviously its not Obstruction but thats what the media and libs would claim)

If that is what Trump was afraid of, even after Mueller finishes, Adam Schitt will have another investigation that they would deem "obstructed."

It’s kind of hard to run a country with the DOJ loyal to the previous President and the Presidential candidate who lost. Furthermore, The Executive Branch has been stymied by circuit judges and FISA court SOB’s.

That’s a plausible explanation. My view, for what its worth, is that Trump should have released the FISA docs and exposed the cabal so that the American people could see for themselves the details of the most insidious and historic political scandal in American history. This was nothing short of an attempted a coup d’état. To my mind, nothing could be more important than exposing this treason. If we don’t get to the bottom of it, it will happen again. And next time we may not be so lucky.

Good point. There is no end to the Democrat obsession with removing Trump. So he may as well expose the bastards and let the chips fall where they may. The only way to beat them is to stay on offense.

I can imagine that Trump is backed into a very hard place in DC. He doesn’t really know who he can really trust, other than his family. How could he ever really trust anyone from either party considering all we know about our dysfunctional state of things in our capitol? Both parties have built a giant house of cards that they must protect from collapse at all cost, because they’ve basically stolen all of our money far into the future.

But to answer your question, I see Trump as a pragmatist who believes in things that matches with conservatism, not really as a full on Christian conservative like myself. He appoints people based on whether he thinks they can get the job done, not on their political ideology, so much.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That was the very tail end of the most insidious and historic political scandal in American History.
Barack Obama was never eligible.
Both parties cooperated to violate the Constitution.
The Kenyanesian Usurpation, all of it, from Fast and Furious through Benghazi, the IRS targeting conservatives and ending with Spygate was all part of the same Constitutional crime spree.
