Press Release
Joint Statement from Reps. Ocasio-Cortez, Omar, Pressley and Tlaib on the FY 2019 Government Funding Package
WASHINGTON Today, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) issued a statement in response to the 2019 government funding package issued this morning:
In this country, our diversity is our greatest strength. Immigrants fuel our nations economy, enrich our nations culture, and enhance our social fabric. Quite simply, we are a better nation because of our immigrants.
And yet, this Administration continues to threaten the dignity and humanity of our immigrant population. The Department of Homeland Security has separated thousands of children from their parents, denied asylum to those fleeing danger, and used taxpayers dollars as a slush fund to incite terror in immigrant communities. The efficacy of a government agency must be determined by assessing outcomes. By any reasonable measure, Donald Trumps weaponization of ICE and CBP has been a failure. The Department of Homeland Security does not deserve an increase in funding, and that is why we intend to vote no on this funding package.
The funding bill on the floor today does not address any of our concerns and instead, gives more money to these abusive agencies:
- This bill gives $14.9 billion to CBP, nearly $950 million above current funding levels.
- This bill gives $7.6 billion to ICE, an increase of more than $500 million.
- The bill provides $1.37 billion for 55 miles of a border wall.
- This bill includes funding for an 11% increase in detention bedsan average of more than 45,000 per day, providing ICE the ability to detain 5,000 additional people per day.
We want to be abundantly clear: this is not a rebuke of federal workers or those who depend on the services they provide, but a rejection of the hateful policies, priorities, and rhetoric of the Trump Administration.

Diversity is not our strength. The diverse groups in the US are generally drag on the overall well being of the nation. Certainly these uneducated folks who don’t speak the language are going to be dependent way before they can be dependable contributors to the fabric of this great nation.

Diversity is our greatest weakness. Shared values and common goals are our greatest strength.

Our strength is what we have in common, not our differences. Diversity by itself does not make us strong.

She's the very tip top of the iceberg. There's way more coming from where that vile unAmerican POS came from. Of all the places these inbreds could settle, why did it have to be Dearborn and surrounding areas?

“In this country, our diversity is our greatest strength. Immigrants fuel our nations economy, enrich our nations culture, and enhance our social fabric.”
They themselves are prime evidence of the falsity of that statement.

Josh Bernstein says these women were recruited and their campaigns funded by a group called Justice Foundation. I'm trying to learn more about this radical Leftist organization. He has a clip of four of the JF staff interviewing AOC. What is disturbing is that one of the four looks a lot like the Democrat activist/Antifa terrorist funded by Soros, Jose somebody. He led the Tucker Carlson harassment, and was arrested about a week ago on some other violent attack. Not finding his name.
Justice Foundation looks like a Soros group, if I'm not mistaken.

Nice sweeping pack of lies, however they drain our economy via massive welfare, not bless it. Unity is our strength in the United states, NOT Diversity. And they are enriching out social fabric with theft, murder and gangs. Just because you repeat lies, it does not make it true. They are destroying our freedom as well as our nation and depressing our wages by replacing citizens with low skilled second class illegal migrants. While stealing our wealth to pay abortionists to kill the citizenry. While Globalism makes Millionaires into Billionaires with lower wages and concentrated power over local governments, it does it by destroying the freedom and rights of the surviving citizens. These people are killers in suits.
