I simply love this woman.

I can’t stand Jeff B. but if I were the “richest man in the world”, AOC would be disappeared within a week. After 50 PI’s working on her private world, she might even choose to disappear all by herself.

Anything is possible: today was the day a group of dedicated, everyday New Yorkers & their neighbors defeated Amazons corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world... A degree in economics from BU...really? If that's the quality of product BU produces, they are doomed. Poof! 25,000 jobs gone in a horse-laugh.

AOC and the rest of the party line politics cost their city a phenomenal opportunity.
25,000 jobs.
Wait, 25,000 taxable salaries.
2.9 billion construction jobs supporting multiple industries.
Further taxable income from the boost of supporting infrastructure that would even have hit local mom and pop coffee cafes.
Revitalization of the surrounding areas as new housing and small businesses were developed.
Showcasing the return of Big Tech to New York.
All of this happening at the same time NYS is begging business to come to the start, giving large tax breaks and incentives to new businesses started in the state, realizing its budget will shortfall in the future, and while battling wealth flight out of the state.

That’s a truth that’s getting lost in all this. OAC is a remarkably stupid woman. But (ugh), I think she has a point here.
Anyone who disagrees, please consider this. Why should the government be subsidizing any private business? And what about those companies in competition with Amazon who aren’t getting subsidies? Why should they be unfairly disadvantaged?

I agree. It’s not so much that she’s important herself as that Democrat presidential campaigns feel compelled to support whatever she supports.

We should be a little more careful than this lest we be pointed out as saying that poor people are only qualified to be janitors (class system stereotyping).

You have a point, but your point is not Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s point. Her point is that profit-making is bad.

3 billion for 25,000 jobs is $120,000 per job. Most of the subsidies are scams on the taxpayer.
Are they truly subsidies where a check is written to a company?
Or on the other hand a situation where the government doesnt collect some tax?
A big difference
