Catholic Cardinal Timothy Dolan has declared himself powerless after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) signed into law a bill that allows abortion up to the day of birth.
While the legislation was applauded by many progressives, it has angered many religious leaders, especially in the Democratic governor's own professed Catholic faith, with many calling on Dolan to excommunicate Cuomo for his "flagrant celebration" of the pro-abortion bill.
Dolan, the current Archbishop of New York dismissed his critics as being on the "far right," and stressed that he personally has little "clout" and is just a "fat, balding, Irish bishop." ...The governor especially angered opponents when he ordered that landmarks in the state, including One World Trade Center, be lit pink in celebration.
The cardinal, head of the Archdiocese of New York serving 2.6 million Catholics, also complained that people are looking to him to do something and called on the lay people themselves to “do something!”
"Don't look at me!" he said. "Look at yourselves!"....
He continued, “This is ridiculous. I say to the people too, ‘What are you all looking at daddy here? You better do something!’"...
"Don’t yell at me! Look at yourselves! You're the only ones that can do it, okay? ” he said toward the end of the discussion.

easiest thing real Christians need to do is find a suitable Church with responsible and biblical inspired leadership.
There were times when priests and monks, missionaries went to the world, risked their lives to spread the WORD.
Now, some are getting fat and comfortable, while closing churches and schools and disobeying the WORD!

If he can’t excommunicate Cuomo, who can??? The laity surely can’t!!

Dolan perfectly represents todays Pope and todays Catholic Church. He is pathetic.

Under Francis they are quick to talk about how the wall is bad and wrong, they even worked it into the responssorials a couple weeks back about praying that we welcome more migrants (i refused to join in on that refrain). Yet when it comes to communist oppression or killing babies they say they don't want to step into politics. And as bad or worse, he refused to talk about his priests raping young men and boys and denied the bishops their right to speak on it too, claiming there would be some sort of major meeting in February. Then once it was out of the headlines that went right out the window, never heard about that major meeting again. So the official position of the church on their own horrible sins is "no comment".
I have utter contempt for that serpent.
But here's a case where lefties are proposing something straight out of one of Mengele's notebooks and the church is silent. They aren't secretly rescuing babies either, they are just moral cowards who don't have the guts to either say it's evil, or that they never really believed their pro-life stuff in the first place.

The “Cardinal” will be hearing from me, as will the Bishop and my local Priests: Excommunicate Cuomo, period or me and my family are done with the Coward Catholic church. I will consider attending mass at my local church ONLY if the Priests publicly demand Cuomo’s excommunication. Damn right I’ll “do something”.
