Lefties are quick to say the Pope in the 1940s should have publicly denounced Hitler. Maybe they're right although a case can be made that The Pope was working to save jews and others from death camps and that would have ended if he'd made a public enemy of Hitler.
But here's a case where lefties are proposing something straight out of one of Mengele's notebooks and the church is silent. They aren't secretly rescuing babies either, they are just moral cowards who don't have the guts to either say it's evil, or that they never really believed their pro-life stuff in the first place.

In defense of Pius XII, remember that Germany, which included German annexed Austria, was about 40% Catholic. Many of Germany's allies, such as Croatia and Hungary, were predominantly Catholic. Also, the Vatican was de facto captive to the Nazis and the Italian fascist regime. Hitler, a nominal Catholic , was not excommunicated, although he was more wicked than Cuomo, et. al. Given his virtual captivity, it is hard to imagine Pius XII doing so. Cardinal Dolan is not so threatened.
