If President Donald Trump has one gift it is that he can command a room — and a national audience when he needs to.
The president gave his second State of the Union Address before a packed Congress and gallery Tuesday night, hitting a theme of political unity hard as he reached out to hostile Democrats who, at several junctures during his speech, stood and applauded.
Overall, more than three-quarters of Americans — 76 percent — approved of the president’s speech, according to a CNN poll taken right after he finished.
CBS News, in a similar survey, found that 72 percent of Americans supported the president’s message, with 59 percent in the CNN poll saying it was “very positive.”

The farther AOC pulls the Democrats to the left, the more the Independents will freak out and vote Trump in 2020. She may turn out to be a king-maker, just not the king she wants.
Would not surprise if Ann Coulter’s viewership, ratings and book sales have plummeted and she’s now a Trump hater just so she gets invited to sit on The View and other worthless shows
In my opinion, Botox Nancy's much publicized refusal to allow President Trump to give the SOTU on the original date brought much more media attention to last night's speech, causing more people to tune in. She outsmarted herself.

This is it, you hit it on the nose. Facts don’t matter much, the democrats know this and always use feelings to sway opinions. Trump is a master at this, it is persuasion 101. Republicans need to learn how to use this skill.
You don’t have to be dishonest to do this. Trump had facts and he had a face to attach to each one. The democrats do this a lot too, except they obfuscate the facts or use false or misleading information.
At my job, me and about three guys were talking this morning. Two are die-hard Democrats and one who leans Democrat...all three said it was a good speech and that he said many things they agree with!
I was DUMBFOUNDED this morning!
I think the Democrats increased the viewership by pulling all their shenanigans with the shut-down, and Pelosi disinviting Trump to speak, etc.
Which is almost two years away. The public has the attention span of a gnat, so don't be so confident in the benefits of this speech lasting for more than a few weeks, if not days.
She’s a one trick pony. She has a few conservative thoughts, then it’s washed down trivia.
I think in truth, she loves the cocktail DC crowd esp when she the only conservative on a liberal panel.
Truth be known, she sleeps with these guys, and talks a good talk to sell her books.
She’s getting creepier by the year. You can just see her, ten to twenty years from now looking like the skinny witch in Sleeping Beauty.

Ann Coulter is likely one of the smartest political commentators around but she is missing something badly now.
I felt this was as good a State of The Union speech as I have ever heard and I have been listening to them since Eisenhower.
Reagan gave wonderful speeches but the themes hit during this speech touched our spirits. He made us feel patriotic, charitable, proud and glad to be American.
I got blurry eyes when he as the first president I can remember with power decried late term abortion. If he said nothing else that would have guaranteed my vote and likely many others for him in 2020. Finally a man with testicular fortitude. A man who was not a Veteran praising veterans and saying we must help them. A man who understands that he did not have to give of his time or blood to defend our country but praises and honors those that did. What he did by inviting survivors of the Holocaust and the liberators of the Holocaust sitting side by side was almost too much emotion for me to be able to contain. He showed us why the US is the most good country to ever exist, he showed us that America has been great and why we must be great again.
I have had a love for President Reagan that is pretty strong, I’m beginning to love this president even more. I voted for him but in my wildest dreams could not have expected him to have accomplished what he has done. He has done it without the support of any Democrats and without many Republicans. I wish severe poop in your pants dementia on all anti-Trumpers.
Many people revere George Washington as the greatest president because he set such a wonderful example. I honor President Washington but have always set President Jefferson on the highest pedestal because of his intellect, his willingness to expand the country and his love of country. I will always be awed by President Thomas Jefferson as the greatest American ever but DJT is getting mighty close to him.
She knows how to sell books to Republicans, by bashing liberals.

She is not an ‘attention seeking whore’ or ‘shrew’ because you might have disagreed with her a few times. She is right far more than she is wrong.
She pointed out what a P.O.S. McCain was very early on. She supported Mitt, but LOOK WHO THE ALTERNATIVE WAS!
We should be grateful she is on our side.
She was one of the few who boldly stated that Trump would win when everyone else was trying to laugh about the possibility.
She is not 100% in agreement with everything you think, but who is?
The problem with Ann Coulter is that her GOPe-purity test would rule out Ronald Reagan!
So, I usually take everything she says with a grain o salt and lime and tequila...otherwise I just turn her off!

The Democrats were betting that Trump would go all gangsta on them for their border wall antics and several other issues. Many Americans tuned in to see what Trump would do/say about the shutdown, the Democrats, etc...
So lots of Americans heard, for the first time without the media filter, EXACTLY what Trump said and meant!! They heard a man who is trying to help America and Americans succeed! He is growing the economy! Trump said he wants immigrants, but he wants them to follow the law. Those tuning in, heard a GREAT speech!
I have a Democrat in my office that said this morning, “I never heard him say that he wanted immigrants before.” I asked him, have you ever heard him say that he wanted to END immigration? Of course he said, “No, but he says lots of ‘anti-immigration’ things.” I said according to the media, but what they don’t tell you is that he is anti-ILLEGAL immigration! He said, “I heard that last night.”
I really think Nancy and the Democrats screwed up, because many people tuned in for a real battle royal, but instead heard a man who loves America, wants Americans to succeed and wants the rule of law to prevail. Who (other than yellow-dog Democrats) can be upset and against ANY of those items?
You assume my issue with Coulter is a difference of opinion, but you assume wrong. To me it does not matter that she and I share many of the same political positions. I don't like her, never have. She is, indeed, the very definition of a shrew. Look it up. I find her unattractive in several ways...for me listening to her is akin to nails on a chalkboard. Her chosen persona is polemicist. I get it, but the way she practices it is not my cup of tea.
