Rep. Marino said the following:
As of January 23, 2019, I am officially stepping down from Congress. Having spent over two decades serving the public, I have chosen to take a position in the private sector where I can use both my legal and business experience to create jobs around the nation. I want to thank the people of the 12th Congressional District of Pennsylvania for the faith they have placed in me to represent them in Congress. It truly has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I worked in Congress to fight for the hardworking people of our region and I am proud of the work we have accomplished. I am confident that the area will continue to thrive.

Shoe about to drop on this guy ?
Moving into an office on K street???
I wouldn't be surprised if we see more GOP departures like this. Unless you want to have a long career in Washington, it's probably no fun being in the minority party.
“.....spent over two decades serving the public, I have chosen to take a position in the private sector where I can use both my legal and business experience to create jobs around the nation....” Just think, in about two more decades aoc may be making a similar announcement after getting to know lots of contractors and keeping files on them. Weird how you (in a lot of cases) go in nearly broke and come out(in a most cases) a gazillionaire. Or close to it.
That’s what I’m thinking. I’m also wondering when we’re going to drop a truckload of shoes on some Democrat congresscritters. 40-plus GOP “retirements” from the House and no Democrats...?
Fixed.
How does the seat get filled? If the Governor appoints, he’s just handed the dems another seat, with two year for the new guy to get entrenched. If he was going to retire, he should have done it before running for reelection.
Something came up. Only two weeks after a new Congress starts, less than 4 months after the 2018 re-election?
Who got dirt on him?
Why now, and not before the election in Nov?
“Who got dirt on him?”
If there is dirt on him, he’s the one that got himself dirty.
Oh yay, another special election in which if the GOP candidate wins by a smaller margin than usual or loses, the MSM will spin it as a rising tide against Trump...
In other words, he couldn’t stand firm on the shutdown, so he better get out now.
My bet is that he was bribed with an offer that wouldn’t be there if he served out his term.
It’s a strong GOP District.
Tom Barletta.....LOU Barletta. Gleason ignored him. They still owe me a buck for a bumper sticker I never got.

Yup. The Stupid Party strikes again.
What a jerk!
I could be wrong, but I believe unlike the senate, the seat will remain vacant until the next election in 2020.
Either he is just selfish or they have something on him.
Bet it gets gerrymandered.
Special election. Article I, Section 2: "When vacancies happen in the Representation from any state, the executive authority thereof shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies."
It's a solid Red district but we'll see what happens with a special.
