California’s Gavin Newsom Proposes Tax on Drinking Water in First Budget
Breitbart ^ | January 13, 2019 | Joel B. Pollak

California Governor Gavin Newsom proposed his first budget for the state on Friday, and it includes a tax on drinking water.

The budget, titled “California for All,” declares drinking water a “fundamental right,” and adds: “The Budget includes short-term measures to bring immediate relief to communities without safe drinking water and also proposes an ongoing sustainable funding source to address this problem into the future.”

The San Francisco Chronicle notes: “The details of the proposed tax are unknown, but a similar proposal was abandoned by then-Governor Jerry Brown last year after failing to garner enough support in the legislature.”

Feeling sorry for Californians is about as difficult as feeling sorry for Venezuelans.

The real problem is once the citizenry of said state & country have crapped their own nest via voting, they move on to cleaner nests to dirty them. It’s a mental disease.

Someone remarked earlier that Maduro would likely win an honest election. Well, look what California did. To keep doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results with each try is insanity.

And we sit on our hands and content ourselves with whining about it.

Someday, someone is going to have to get up off it and fight.

We’ve already proven it aint gonna be us.

CA freebies and punitive taxes are in large part due to the millions of illegals corrupt government allowed into the state.

Agree completely on Prop 187 -- It was a clear case of obstructing the voters' will. I'm still ticked off to the max about it.

As for illegals flooding the state and creating higher taxes, etc. that's the grand plan for the rest of the U.S. If the illegal invasion is not stopped the rest of the country will follow CA's bad example.

The Yellow vest riots are against Environmental taxes and madness. They are against the EU and anti sovereignty. They are against the moslem hords invading their country and culture. They are sick of it. Macron tried to blur the motive by raising the minimum wage requirements on employers!! It miserably fails because that it not what it’s about. That was a communist ploy to shift the real reason. Its about freedom from governmental oppression. California will soon be a sea of Yellow Vests.

Why not a “heartbeat tax”. Maybe newsom should look into an exemption for himself.

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.

I’m deep behind enemy lines. I’ll never stop fighting but I won’t take any responsibility for what has happened to us. Dragnet is right about Prop 187. When we passed Prop 8 to defend marriage, the attorney general and the governor, an alleged republican refused to defend it in court. The secretary of state an dthe attorney general routinely collude to keep conservative measures off the ballot. When a measure qualifies, like the gas tax repeal, they’ll give it a misleading title and ballot description to prevent the low information voters from leaving the plantation. The same genius voters were persuaded to adopt the “jungle primary” that keeps a republican from even being on the general election ballot in many cases, eg, in the senatorial election this last time. Still a few GOP candidates sneak onto the ballot, so now we have the latest tool of tyranny, the “ballot harvesters,” to steal republican election victories.
