The mother of Mollie Tibbetts, a 20-year-old Iowa college student who was allegedly murdered earlier this year by an immigrant residing the U.S. illegally, adopted the child of Mexican immigrants who fled town after the man accused of killing her daughter was arrested. Laura Calderwood told The Washington Post in an interview published Friday that she had taken in Ulises Felix, 17, after his parents fled town following Cristhian Bahena Rivera's arrest... The Post reported that Felix's parents had worked alongside Rivera at the same dairy farm for years. Felix told the paper that his parents "took care of" Rivera "for a while," adding that his mother fed him every day. “He was so busy sending money back to his parents, trying to help them build a house," Felix said.

The mother is trying to absolve herself from the worst decision she has ever made, by taking in the ‘immigrant child’. ‘See, he is a good boy so therefore, my daughter is not dead because I was stupid and hired an illegal alien.’
Guilt and a painful loss is causing her to rationalize in a way that protects her.
It’s better to virtue signal than it is to have a living daughter.
Or is it because they love themselves and think everyone would want to be just like them if given the chance? So many people think they're part of the ruling class, and have a superiority complex. The way Colin Kaepernik turned on the culture that embraced him should've opened eyes. It didn't.
Where did I first start feeling this way? Back in the late 1960s. I lived in an apartment complex for awhile where a group of gals got together every week to play bridge. The Vassar grad once bragged how her alma mater would accept a handful of black students who were good "projects". They would be embraced and coddled, so they could be used to "keep minorities in line".
It's amazing how something like that comes back when you see where we are today.

Are you sure? It looks like this “child” she took in, is/was 17. I thought the alleged killer was just in his 20’s.
She took in a male teen-not a child-parasite who came here to suck what he could from America to send back to his sewer of a country. Now her daughter is dead at the hands of another parasite. Has she learned anything?

It appears that the end point of a really, really advanced, affluent society with a tradition of compassion and tolerance is a steady increase in the number of truly mentally-ill people who are left to roam about freely.
Presumably this trend continues until the antics of the mentally-ill people begin to endanger the survival prospects of their immediate neighbors to such an extent that "out-of-band measures" are taken.
